Lots of contractions at 24 weeks - anyone?

Hey future moms :)

For the last month weeks I have been feeling contractions, and was told by a doctor it was normal. But this week they started increasing and increasing, to the point every time my sweet baby girl changed positions inside my womb, my uterus contracted for a couple seconds. Tonight I couldn't sleep, and my belly was becoming sore when tightened. So this morning the first thing I did was to run to the hospital.

Long story short: my cervix is ok, with 4,5 cm of thickness and not dilating. But the contractions were not normal at all. Baby girl is super healthy. Doctor put me on progesterone and magnesium pills 2x a day, and I must stay at home doing nothing at all, mainly laying down or sitter for the next weeks, and maximum exercise I am allowed to do is to give short walks inside home and (when contractions get better) on the street in front of my house. Also, all stress should be avoided as well.

I am doing my best but it is hard to not freak out, I just want my baby girl to be fine in my bump because it is still toooo early and I still have three months to go.

Is anyone going through this or has been through this? I would love to hear some stories/experiences to cheer me up.

Sounds stressful for you. Hope you are OK.

Glad you went and got checked though and they will keep a close eye on you now too.

Not experienced this other than very late on in pregnancy from like 35 weeks onwards, at which point they don't intervene and allow baby to arrive. Let's hope the bed rest and medication helps things settle.
