Can't believe there is going to be a baby?

I'm 26 weeks pregnant. This (all going well) will be my second baby. I just can't get my head around it though. I haven't bought anything. Have no names in mind. I haven't had many appointments with the midwife which I think adds to the feeling. I honestly never believed people when they said they didn't feel pregnant before! When we talk about the baby I feel like we are talking about a hypothetical baby coming sometime in the future not March! Does anyone else feel this way?

I live abroad in rented accommodation. We have not bought a thing, and have no idea where we will be living or working when baby will come. So yes, baby seems very much an abstract concept for me too. I just focus each day on getting through the horrendous pregnancy sickness and symptoms and hope that plans will work themselves out eventually. Life usually finds a way to sort itself out!

I had my last dc after a 6 year gap.
Baby stuff all ready.
Had him 6 weeks premature and wow was my head a mess! Def wasn't mentally prepared at all for that!! Hormones and all that play strange tricks op!!

I felt that way until my DD was about 8 weeks old Grin as a PP said, it will come as a shock to the system for a while with hormones running wild but it’ll sink in!

I feel like this; almost 16 weeks after 3 MCs, & can't really believe its happening. I feel really disconnected from the pregnancy. I'm not even sure I want kids now - which is ridiculous as we've tried for a couple of years and were so sure before.

Not me but my DH pretty much was in denial for months. Hr even said to the doctor “ so, do you just take her word for it?!” He would preface every baby discussion with “so if you are pregnant……’”then after the scans it was “so if everything’s ok and we do have a baby”
He said he was scared to jinx things.
You’ve got until March to get you head around it, things will seem more real when your bump is bigger and you’re further along.
Im sort of the opposite, I really bonded with all of my ‘ imaginary babies’ and then struggled a bit when they emerged and were nothing like I thought they would be!
I used to like laying in the bath and pouring water over my bump to make them move, Try that , it’s like playing with themSmile

Yes! I have 4 weeks to go and I can't get my head round that the baby will be out of me and around forever! Grin
