I'm not sure. I'm wondering the same. My DP desperately wants me to have the booster but I'm so worried. I also had a bad reaction with my first vaccine (wasn't pregnant at the time). However now I'm pregnant I'm really worried about having it.

The current thinking is that it is safe and any tiny risks are way less than the risks of being seriously ill/ giving birth prematurely/your baby needing special care or even being stillborn if you get Covid, particularly in the last trimester.

COVID-19 infection can also affect the pregnancy. In pregnant women with symptoms of COVID-19, it is twice as likely that their baby will be born early, exposing the baby to the risk of prematurity. A recent study has also found that pregnant women who tested positive for COVID-19 at the time of birth were more likely to develop pre-eclampsia, more likely to need an emergency caesarean and their risk of stillbirth was twice as high, although the actual number of stillbirths remains low.

I'm holding off until the second trimester. I've seen a few countries (incl Germany) recommending holding off until then so I feel of there isn't consensus on it being safe in the first trimester I'd rather not risk it.

I've already got two jabs and I reacted strongly to both so don't want to end up with a high fever again.

I just got mine at 8 weeks. I had pretty bad side effects after my first AZ dose but only mild side effects after the Moderna vaccine and no luckily fever. With the high rates of Covid in the UK at the moment including highly transmissible Omicron I was more worried about the effects of catching Covid than the effects of the booster.
