Just that really.. I’m 35+4 with 4th baby and lost my plug this morning, been having cramps all day and felt really sick all afternoon.

Wondering if this might be an early baby!

What’s your experience?

My mucus plug came out at around 3pm and I was in active labour by 11pm, although I've heard it can come out weeks beauteous xx

Sunnygirl2021 · 13/12/2021 21:19

Sorry I mean weeks before 🤦‍♀️ bloody auto correct

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 13/12/2021 21:21

Last time it came out at 39 weeks and DS was born at 41+4. Currently 37+2 and keeping an eye out!

fallhappy1 · 14/12/2021 08:09

Both DC I was in established labour both times.

ISeeTheLight · 14/12/2021 08:10

I was well into established labour. Baby was born an hour or 2 later.

Ooh interesting, different experiences for everyone! I’ve had cramping and back pain since I lost my plug yesterday morning, I can’t fully remember with the others but I think it was about a week before labour that I lost it. Seems early this time though!

Mine went at 31 weeks and again at 35. They grow back apparently bit I was convinced I was going to have a preterm baby.
Anyway my lo was born at 42 weeks by emergency c section after a failed induction. He really didn't want to come out.

StrawberrySanta · 14/12/2021 09:51

Mine went at 37 weeks but I didn't go into labour untilled 40+10

Tiredasamf · 14/12/2021 11:19

So it could still be a few weeks then. I’m having so many pains though I feel like something must be going on in there! I lost another chunk about 10am and have had tightenings on my front and back since. Not regular though really but painful!

Should say I was induced with my first 2, and 3rd was all very fast and I happened to be in hospital for a scan at the time so have never gone into labour outside of a hospital setting!

Mine came away (literally plopped out on the floor when I got out of bed Envy - not envy!) at around 9am, waters went that night and I’d given birth by lunch time the next day.

Saoirsesersha · 14/12/2021 11:24

I lost mine around 9am and baby arrived at 11pm the same day

Good luck!

Notwithittoday · 14/12/2021 11:27

Mine was 10am, labour started about 5pm with a few pains, gave birth 9pm same day. Didn’t see one with my second as I was induced

Tiredasamf · 14/12/2021 11:29

Oh my goodness @PlasticCupPolitics! It’s huge if it all comes away at once isn’t it?! 🤢

How far gone were you?

I’m hoping baby might arrive before Christmas so hoping this is the start of something!

Has anyone experienced losing it so early and gone into preterm labour afterwards?

First baby, I lost my mucus plug in dribs and drabs about 72 hours before she was born.
Second and third babies I didn’t lose it until I was in active labour.

toastfiend · 14/12/2021 11:44

I lost mine at 34 +2. Midwives were very dismissive and said it could be weeks until my baby was born as losing the plug didn't necessarily mean anything, but my waters broke 5 days later at 35 weeks exactly. I was having contractions initially but they stopped when I was admitted to the ward soI ended up being induced and DS was born at 35 + 2. I think if I hadn't been stressed and in hospital it probably would have progressed naturally.

PlasticCupPolitics · 14/12/2021 12:34

Absolutely massive, I’ll never forget the sound it made when it hit the floor 🤢

I was 39 weeks on the dot, so much further along than you. I’m wondering, as you are classed as pre-term, whether or not you should contact your midwife or maternity triage, given the pains that you are having?
