Hi All -
Looking for positive stories. Just had my second growth scan within a week to check on baby. She is measuring about 7th centile and I'm now in for weekly scans to make sure that the placenta is doing what is needed.
So far there is nothing of concern, no markers for downs, good bloodflow in heart/placenta and she is quite active. Blood pressure and urine is all good..
I'm quite a small woman and was born 5lbs so I'm hoping genetics plays a part
Bit freaked out about it and I'm hoping to hear some good news. Thanks x

I was the same as you for DD2. In hospital for scans and monitoring every week to check the placenta, fortnightly growth scans, anally retentive consultants… the works!

She was on the 3rd centile for most of my pregnancy, rising to the 5th, before plateauing. I had the steroid injections just in case but then they induced me at 37 weeks. She was born 37+1 weighing 4lbs! Some breathing/feeding difficulties at first meant she spent 10 days on NICU but since she came home she’s gone from strength to strength. She’s 16 months nearly, cruising the 50th centile nicely and we’ve had no complications despite her small size to start. She’s hitting all her milestones and runs rings around me on the daily!

Some people just make small babies, I reckon. My first was only 5lbs and is now a perfectly healthy (and very sassy) 4yo!

Hope this has reassured you somewhat! Best of
luck to you! 💐
