Booster jab

32 weeks pregnant. Had both other jabs during second trimester. Do I wait it out or have the booster?

Wondering if I'm more likely to help or harm the baby by having the booster now?

Thanks

I would assume it’s more likely to help as you may pass some immunity on to the baby once it’s born like your whooping cough vaccine does. And I’m sure most of its actual development is done now and it’s just growing. Also there’s a good chance covid could make you very unwell at this point in pregnancy with this new variant around, so personally i think I’d feel confident getting my booster done now Flowers

Thank you @WorriedGiraffe Smile just want to keep baby safe! It's only been 2.5 months since my last dose so unsure if i will even be able to book!

As someone who currently has Covid and is pregnant, I’d say please do get the booster. My last jab was in June and I’ve been trying for the last few weeks to book a booster but to no avail. Then sadly got Covid for the first time. Really not a nice experience.

I am having my booster tomorrow at 36 weeks. I am so scared of catching Covid and having to give birth alone, so I will do anything to increase my chances of staying well.

I've just had my booster at 24+5. The vaccine won't harm your baby. Stay safe and get the jab I'd say!

You can have the booster from 3 months after your second dose, so you should be able to get yours booked in the next couple of weeks OP.

I'm 33 weeks and booked for mine next week. I'm not fancying my chances of walking out of hospital Covid free when I give birth next month so was always going to have it if I was eligible before giving birth.

I booked it earlier! Glad I did so before BJ came on

I had my booster at 20 weeks as soon as I was able to, it had been 7 months since my second dose. That was around 5 weeks ago and all going well so far
