How early did anyone start tummy time

We started quite early as our little one liked being held a certain way which apparently counted as tummy time. I can't say it was a conscious thing as in those hazy newborn days you do what you have to in order to get by. Just take each day as it comes 😊

From birth. I lay him on his play mat (obviously supervised). He just lay on his belly with his head to one side with his arms tucked underneath him. He was bobbing his head up and down by 11 days old. He always preferred tummy time to being sat in a bouncer, I think it depends on what your baby prefers. He was quite a strong baby though, walking by 9 months. Now he’s 3 and you wouldn’t be able to tell which of him of his friends did any of this stuff first. Don’t stress, follow your baby’s lead.

I’ve just been reading up on this in preparation. Everything I read suggested to start as soon as you can but to sit/lie in a reclined position and have your baby on your chest. It also said to only do it for a few minutes to start.

Having baby lie on their stomach on your chest counts as tummy time, and we were doing that almost from the get go.
