Brown discharge

Hi I had my 12 week scan on the 9th dec everything was fantastic and looking great today I've had light brown spotting after I pee im just a nervous wreck I've had 5 missed miscarriages and its freaking me out anyone had the same discharge.

Does it contain bits that look like coffee grounds?

It could be old blood that's been dislodged from the scan. I recently had lots of bleeding after and internal scan. And I've seen people say they've experienced some spotting after an abdominal scan due to the pressure that can be put on the uterus.

I completely understand your worry, especially due to your previous losses. I've had 3 MC's and have been so anxious during this 4th pregnancy.
When I had some brown spotting, I was told to see if it stops after 24 hours and it did.
Have you contacted your midwife?

She was putting alot of pressure on my abdomen I actually have a bruise on the left side I dont know if I will be able to get a hold of her on a sunday but I will phone in the morning and see I dont have any cramping or anything either thank you for getting back to my message its hard when you cant speak to anyone about things like this.

That's good that you don't have any cramping. How is it today? Does it seem any better?

Hey I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have been sick quite a lot. I was having a lot of brown discharge everyday for weeks. I realised the amount of strain my body was going through whilst being sick about 6 times a day was irritating my belows and causing brown discharge. Baby seems all ok! Doctors kept telling me if it's brown to not worry so much

I think we worry about everything which just adds more stress but it's hard to enjoy being pregnant until you can feel it move about yourself or until he or she is in your arms.

I absolutely know where you're coming from. I've felt anxiety every day with this pregnancy. I've had 2 scans already. I'm currently 9 weeks. One scan I booked after having brown spotting and everything was fine even though I'd convinced myself the worst had happened.

I had this after my scan. It was brown after wiping for about 2 weeks! I was told brown means it’s old blood, that has been dislodged from somewhere.

I completely understand where you’re coming from! I also brown discharge at 10 weeks and I was already a nervous wreck as I’d had two previous miscarriages. went for a scan and it was nothing to worry about it was old blood. I managed to relax once I could feel baby moving so I was being constantly reassured!

Hi, I'm 28 weeks and had brown discharge today. Do call the pregnancy advice line as they had me in for monitoring and examination - all well thankfully.

I am also a - blood group but baby is + so for any bleeding I need the Anti D jab within 72hrs of the bleed. If that's the case for you then you 100% need to contact them now.
