9 this morning my waters started leaking, I've had a scan and there's still fluid around my boy, I've had my first steroid injection and been started on antibiotics, just looking for similar stories really, I'm a little nervous, my first baby was an emergency section at 27 weeks due to preeclampsia, 2nd waters went 38 weeks and had to be induced. Not sure if I'm getting contractions as when I was induced they come so fast and intense, just feels like shooting period pains at the minute and back ache. Thanks for reading

No advice but I hope everything goes ok and baby stays in you as long as possible, how are you feeling now??

Hi there, didn’t want to read and run. I had PROM (though not PPROM) and a successful induction so no real experience with what you’re going through, but I hope you’ll be ok and have someone to be with you and reassure you. Are the doctors confident they can stall your labor? I know of someone who made it to 34 weeks after her water broke at 28 weeks.

hi there, I had cervical cancer a few years ago and had a radical trachelectomy to remove the cervix. I had IVF this year which was successful and was 27 weeks on Friday, my waters started leaking on Tuesday so I went straight to hospital and they have kept me in since. I been on antibiotics to prevent infection and having regular checks on baby heart beat they given me steroid injections for the baby’s lungs. I still leaking fluid but That will continue I believe , they said I just have to stay in bed now in the hospital until baby is born I can’t even get up to go to the toilet! Has anyone else had this before? What is the likely hood of me giving birth early? Sounds like I could get infection and then they would have to deliver. Has anyone gone full term after this has happened so early?

I think its very unlikely they will be able to continue your pregnancy to term @JHassell but hopefully they can give you another few weeks for your baby's lungs and brain to develop a little bit more.
I hope you are getting good medical care and your little one will be kept safe

Thank you for your message. Yes I have good feeling it be a few more weeks at least

Hi, I had PPROM at 31 weeks in my previous pregnancy- had a lot of twinges/ cramps but managed to not go into labour. Like you I had the steroids, no antibiotics but had to monitor my temperature every couple of hours. At 34 weeks they induced me (this is the standard guideline I think) and had a healthy, but tiny DS. He was fine and breathed on his own from the start. He was tube-fed to start with and needed light therapy for jaundice but all in all we were pretty lucky and brought him home at a week old. He’s 6 now and thriving- keeping everything crossed for you x

My little boy stuck it out until 29 weeks when we got an infection which led to sepsis, we were both very poorly but definitely in the best place when it happened. He's nearly 1 now and is thriving, came off oxygen a few weeks ago! Please keep us upto date and hopefully little baby stays as long as possible inside you
