Hi ladies

Just a quick question. I started taking aspirin 2 days ago after speaking to my consultant. Has anyone taken omega 3 (I’m vegetarian so it’s be vegetarian ones) with aspirin?

Hello, yes I have been taking 75mg of aspirin with DHA supplements all the way through. Are you not supposed to?

Very low dose of aspirin is usually fine and sometimes recommended if you have suffered previous miscarriages.
Omega 3 is fine, I had them throughout with my last (the vegan ones as I was trying them out although I eat meat).

I'm on Omega 3 (well a fish oil) and 150 mg Aspirin (prescribed by the midwife). As far as I know there are no interactions between supplements/vitamins and aspirin - only some medications (I have to leave at least a 4 hour gap between my SSRI and the aspirin).

The only thing is that both low dose aspirin and fish oil (not sure about vegan omega 3?) have a mild blood thinning effect, so although I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take then together, in some ways it might make some sense to space them apart over the day.
