Just wanting to see if anyone else has had/is having a similar experience with the hospital. Sorry it’s a bit of a rant! Just feeling very frustrated and anxious!
I’m pregnant with first baby (41+1) and was told by the midwife to go to hospital yesterday (Wednesday) for a balloon induction after 2 sweeps that didn’t start things off.
Got to hospital and was told as I was 2cm dilated at my last sweep (on Monday), I shouldn’t have been booked in for a balloon, instead I would be able to have my waters broken but I would need to come back the following day (today - Thursday) to have that done. Was still there for about 3 hours before I got sent home.
They told me to come in for 9am but ring first to confirm, rang up 7:30 and they were totally full so said couldn’t give a time but would phone and update me after morning rounds.
Got a phone call about 10am saying they didn’t know when I’d be able to go in so could I go to PAU at 1pm to have some checks done and they would hopefully know more about timings then too.
Went to PAU appointment and waited almost 2 hours to be seen, had a few checks done to make sure baby was happy, then got told they still didn’t know when they could see me to break my waters and they would ring me, would I be happy for them to ring anytime even middle of the night but possibly wouldn’t be tonight as there’s a big backlog of people waiting.
Just feeling very frustrated as I’m terrified about giving birth and feel like we’re in limbo at the moment! I completely understand they’re busy and have to prioritise but feel like we keep getting told things will happen then I spend hours getting poked/prodded and come home no further forward, wondered if others were having the same trouble?
Keeping everything crossed she decides to join us quickly of her own accord!
