Hi everyone,

I am just over six weeks pregnant. I feel quite anxious. I was wondering whether anyone had a GP confirm their pregnancy. I have an appointment booked in two weeks with the midwife - but it's a telephone one. Then I have my scan booked in the 2nd week of jan. Am I supposed to 'feel' pregnant? I'm not sure?!

Any advice welcome x

Congratulations!
It's honestly different for everyone! You might get nausea, you might get sore breasts, you might get constipated or you might not! They can appear one week and be gone the next. Its an interesting process haha
I did pregnancy tests when I was late so knew at 5 weeks. I still won't fully believe it (even though I have symptoms like nausea) until I see the wee bean on the scan tomorrow.

Congratulations! I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and still haven’t had a midwife appointment! (I’m sure I had my first one at 7/8 weeks last time) have you no symptoms at all? I just feel sick all the time

TakeYourFinalPosition · 09/12/2021 12:05

My GP doesn’t confirm pregnancies - you self refer, like you have. I didn’t feel pregnant until I had a bump - no boob soreness or morning sickness or anything here!

It sounds like everything is moving along normally, I had a telephone booking in appointment too, and then your 12 week scan.

Congratulations!

Beautyangel1 · 09/12/2021 12:09

@JustFrigginNameChange I feel bloated every morning and always have sore boobs. No sickness yet x

@SnowdropFox good luck for tomorrow. The first 12 weeks are so nerve racking!

@Beautyangel1 I think it peaks at 8 weeks, not that that’s anything to look forward to! :D it’s such an anxiety inducing time isn’t it! At least you’ve got your scan to look forward to :)

Beautyangel1 · 09/12/2021 12:11

@TakeYourFinalPosition Thank you

I just feel so anxious, as I've read about missed miscarriages. I wonder whether having an early scan will put my mind at rest?

Does anyone recommend an early scan?

Thanks

Never done it myself. Just because if I had one, what's to stop me feeling I need another one the following week?
But it does reassure a lot of people.
At least with Christmas time should pass quite quickly unlike other times of year. In theory unless you have to work!

Lostintranslatio · 09/12/2021 15:30

I've had an early scan (previous MMC) and, in my case, it was peace of mind but only temporarily 😅 After a few days fears and anxieties come back.

Gemandi2 · 09/12/2021 16:15

Congratulations @Beautyangel1 I've just found out I'm pregnant too but this will be my third child - so found symptoms come and go and every pregnancy is slightly different. It's definitely an anxious time I agree but not long until your scan now xx out of interest how is everyone covering up their pregnancy over Christmas. I don't want to announce mine yet and my family can be quite judgemental so need good excuses and wondered what others will be using?

Clodagh21 · 15/12/2021 22:41

Hi im also really nervous! Im 5 weeks tomorrow with my first and wont have an appointment until early February so I've booked myself an early 6 week scan on the 23rd of this month for piece of mind. Hope you have a healthy pregnancy:)

Beautyangel1 · 15/12/2021 23:09

@Clodagh21 congratulations 😀 Let me know how your scan goes.
I had an early scan last week when I thought I was 7 +2 but turned out I was 6 +3.

Do you have any hospital appointments before your scan? Xx

Clodagh21 · 16/12/2021 00:08

Beautyangel1 · 22/12/2021 10:32

I have been suffering with morning sickness and nausea, however I'm
Not being sick daily. Is this normal? What are your pregnancy symptoms?

Ive just got a headache and sore boobs atm. Haven’t been sick but they smell of certain foods makes me feel a bit sick. Im 6 weeks tomorrow and had to go for a scan at EPU due to pain to rule out ectopic and its not thank goodness! Although I have got a hematoma behind the sac

Beautyangel1 · 24/12/2021 08:35

@Clodagh21 Hope you're ok. How did your scan go? Xx

It is normal to feel anxious especially as a first time mum. Pregnancy is such a unique experience and symptoms might come and go every week. My very first symptom was very strong sense of smell.... take care an extra care of yourself especially in this pandemic as covid and pregnancy doesn’t go very well...congratulations and I hope you enjoy this journey :)

Hi ladies..just want to ask if anyone had their period and went on to get a bfp?
I had intercourse in mid Feb. Two weeks later on 26th Feb i had spotting for a day, followed by 3 days of full period (soaked pad). By the 5th day, i went back to just pink spotting and I thought hey, this month the period went by fast. Fast forward to today, I have been feeling nauseous like every night, tingling pains at the nipples. I took an internet cheapie pregnancy strip and saw a vvvvvv faint line. But I'm puzzled as I just had my so called period ending on 5th March.
