Induction after unsuccessful sweeps?

Does anyone have any positive induction experiences to share after having painful sweeps which weren’t successful because the cervix was too hard and too far back?

It seems that my body is just not ready for labour but because of a number of medical reasons, I’m being induced early.

But after two awful attempted sweeps, I’m feeling really worried about having the prostins put in and concerned about how unsuccessful labour is likely to be when induced.

I had a sweep Monday and Wednesday and I’m supposed to be induced on Saturday…

I really need some positivity right now 😞

Thank you! X

I was induced with dc3 - had lots of sweeps with no success - he was very late though at 12 days over. I had the pessaries in the morning - then spent the day pacing around the hospital. Contractions finally started about 2 pm and then came thick and fast - it was quite intense. But I was able to labour in the birth pool and he was born in the pool a couple of hours later.

@FanSpamTastic that sounds like a positive experience! Thank you for sharing!

I’m only going to be 38 weeks so I can’t help but think that nothing will get things going! And I’m dreading the Vaginal Examinations which I seem to find so painful! X
