Morning sickness

Hi everyoneSmile
I am 12 weeks pregnant with identical twins, this being my first pregnancy and I am struggling pretty badly with morning sickness. I find the feeling of the nausea much worse than actually being sick as at least this gives some sort of relief.
I have especially been struggling getting public transport to work as well as just getting through the working day. My GP gave me a sick note for a week. I considered extending this but due to financial reasons I went back to work. But now after two days back I can't cope with the nausea and have called in sick for 3 days. It is making me very worried and anxious calling in sick for morning sickness, as I feel like people don't believe me. It is making me feel VERY guilty. Does anyone else get this feeling? Is morning sickness a valid reason to call in sick?

Thankyou Smile

Morning sickness differs for everyone and since you are carrying twins, it's not surprising that your morning sickness may be unbearable.

Some women suffer very badly with morning sickness. Some are unable to work. It gets very bad for some women. Some women suffer with Hyperemesis gravidarum.

The good news is: for some women, it does gets better and I hope it gets better for you.

Congratulations on your beautiful pregnancy. I hope you feel much better soon. Thanks

@lizzym99 Hi, Im 11+1 weeks with identical twins! Its also my first pregnancy. Since 6wks Ive had horrid sickness, Im nauseous 24/7 & I have to go to bed at 8.30pm as I feel so sick. Ive never actually been sick though. Ive tried ginger & sickness bands but they dont help. Im just praying that the placenta takes over soon as it should and I start to feel better. Fortunately I work from home so I can sit in my pjs at my laptop but if I had to physically go somewhere then I would certainly call in sick, dont feel guilty. I think with twins its more extreme.
Sorry to hear your not good, I hope it gets better for you.

I’m 10 weeks pregnant and also suffering from bad nausea. My taste and smell has altered badly, all I can smell and taste is rotten onions 😭😭, is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and have been suffering with sickness since just week 3! I don't remember my sickness starting this early with the others but I can't believe how awful I feel! I also worry the same that I'm not believed but with my first I remember being very sick, with my son, my daughter I don't remember so much of being sick, but I can't believe how awful I've felt so early on! It's crazy. Everyone is different my sister in law didn't get an inch of sickness, did everything in her day to day life and always looked glamorous! Then there's me that looks and feels like absolute crap 🤣 hope you feel better xx
