How accurate is gender at 16week ultrasound scan?

Hello,

During a scan at 16weeks to the day, Dr advised that "it's looking like a little girl". It was 14w6D from start of last period but at 12w 8days was added to gestation. Most importantly baby looks healthy so far.

Just wondering how accurate the gender call is? I've heard of people been told wrong gender so just curious if anyone has had any relevant experience they could share.

Not only does that demonstrate that you have no boundaries around this issue, but it also shows you have got the whole thing back to front. It’s the trans community who push for using the word gender instead of sex, not the other way round.

Trans people certainly aren't the issue.

And you can carry on failing at being the arbiter of what words can't be used interchangeably (despite context permitting) as well as policing people's use of language

What are these conventional reasons, OP? Are you from a big/culture which favours male infants over females?
I hope you realise that there is nothing that you won’t be able to do with your baby girl that you could do with a son. When the baby is here you’ll adore her with your heart and soul.

Sex and gender aren't the same but people do tend to use them interchangably either because they don't care or don't understand. Nobody is nit picking its just fact
