Hi there
I'm currently 22 weeks and have just requested a repeat prescription for promethazine for my sickness. The doctor approved it but told me I can't take it in thr third trimester.
Having googled it it seem to be due to making baby drowsy/agitated at birth and will need to be observed such as what would happen if pethidine was given a birth.
The thought of returning to the sickness I experienced in the first trimester before taking this is pretty depressing, I've tried to step down off this medication a few times over the last few weeks and within 25 hours I return to feeling rotten.
Is there any other medications I could ask for in the third trimester that don't have the same effects on the baby?
