Cervical cerclage fitted…

I had a cervical cerclage fitted at 19 weeks. I’m not 29 weeks and am doing everything the consultant told me so that I reach full term (lots of resting with my feet up) Is there anyone else who has been in this position? What kind of labour did you have? I’ve been told there’s a risk that my cervix might not dilate properly if it’s too scarred but won’t know until the day comes.

I had a cerclage on my pregnancy and had it removed at 32 weeks. I expected to go into labour soon after as I had a premature labour previously and the consultant said my cervix was already opening. I managed to hold off until 36 weeks and then only had my baby as my placenta was causing slow growth so I had a c section. So I can't answer your question about labour but I just wanted to say the cerclage does work. Wishing you good luck for your labour! Daffodil

Thank you mrscrankypants. That’s very reassuring. I’d love to be able to get to 36 weeks! Fingers crossed it’s as effective for me.
