Heavy bleeding but tests getting stronger

Hi guys,

I am currently 15weeks postpartum from having my 2nd son and found out 3 days ago I am pregnant again. I started bleeding yesterday afternoon and it is quite heavy like a period and bright red but I've had no pain or cramping really. I woke up this morning feeling very sick so I tested again and my test looks stronger to me than the initial one I did. I just come to terms with I'm having an early miscarriage. But the stronger test has made me second guess it. Could this bleeding be because I am only 3/4 months postpartum? Is this actually just a miscarriage? Is this normal?. I don't know what to think but if anyone reply's thank you in advance I appreciate it.

Hi,

Are you still bleeding or has it stopped? Could be implantation I guess as I've read some stories that some women can have quite a heavy bleed with implantation but I don't think it's common. Do you know how far along you are? I'm in a similar position- I'm currently 12 dpo and had a bfp at 8dpo but yesterday had some light spotting/bleeding which worried me as I had a miscarriage not long ago. The bleeding seems to have stopped for me and like you pregnancy tests are still strong so I'm hopeful!

Not sure if it can be related to being post partum but seems feasible. Fingers crossed for you

I had similar in my last pregnancy. Definitely wasn't implantation more very heavy what i presumed was af. But test got stronger and i have a baby now so all was good. Bled for 4 days solid

Not to worry you, but I would try and speak to your GP or early pregnancy unit as soon as possible as bleeding plus positive tests can be a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy.

Hi girls,

I am still bleeding and it's really quite heavy. I haven't took another test since and still no pain really. No clots in blood but heavy bright red blood and is constant now. Gonna give it a couple of days and test again but I'm pretty sure I'm having a miscarriage!x

@annalouise6 how are you feeling?

Hello.
Unfortunately I always still test positive for up to 6 weeks after completely miscarrying when all bleeding has stopped and the baby is gone.

Pregnancy hormones hang around the body for a very long time so there is no point in testing at all.

There are loads of threads on here about this.
Nearly all say that they still test positive hot for 6-8 weeks AFTER fully miscarrying.

Sounds like a miscarriage as there’s not usually large clots and very heavy blood loss and no pain with either an implantation bleed or an ectopic.

If you can cope with the pain by taking painkillers and the bleeding isn’t too horrendous then it’s just waiting it out by a loo.
All the best.
