Washing babies things

Hi everyone.

Since having ds1 I've used fairy non-bio for all the washing. However, last week I picked up Tesco non-bio instead thinking it would be the same. As well as washing all our things with it I also washed all our baby things in preparation for the arrival of no. 3. However, over the last couple of days ds1 has had an itchy rash on his back and I'm now thinking that it could be due to the change in washing liquid.

I'm not going to use the Tesco stuff again just in case but do you think I should re wash the babies things? Probably seems like a silly question but I'd really rather not have to do it all again but at the same time don't want the baby to get a rash like ds1 has. Ds2 doesn't seem to have been affected.

I would re-wash "just in case", just to put my mind at ease. I have bought Ariel non-bio for baby's washing and am already a bit worried about baby having a reaction cos my mum's got eczema (and baby not due till end Feb 08!)

DH has eczema and very sensitive skin. His tolerance for different types of non-bio varies enormously. He is fine with Co-op's own brand and with persil, but not with Somerfields or Sainsbury's. In other words: No point washing it all again as you may then wash it in something your lo is sensitive to, as you cannot predict what will set him or her off anyway. Most important imho is not to use economy programs as they skimp on rinsing water leaving residue. Unless you get a bout of nesting that leaves you with no choice but to wash I would let it be.
