Going for a growth scan next week. Will be 29 weeks pregnant. Just want to see if anyone had scan at this week and what babies estimated weight was?

My son was estimated 3lb 6oz and he's hitting 93rd centile at each growth scan (currently 36w) so he's a big lad! Currently estimated around 7lb 3oz

Oh wee chunk 💙 will you be offered induction before you go overdue? Or are you OK to be left to try go naturally? Just curious what they suggest if baby is measuring bigger x

I just had a growth scan at exactly 28 weeks, he was 2lb14. It put him at just below the 90th percentile.

Kanfuzed123 · 07/12/2021 11:43

The growth charts are personalised so centile will vary hugely but at 31 weeks my baby measured 1800g, which is about 4lbs I think. He was born at 41 weeks weighing 3.5kg which is 7lb 11oz. He was 50th centile during pregnancy and in between 25th and 50th for gestational age at birth, but red book charts between 50/75th. By their measurement he ‘should’ have been 3.7kg at birth so overall was pretty accurate for me I’d say xx

I can’t remember what my last baby’s estimated weight was at his growth scans however they basically told me that he was off the centile chart and would be approx 9lb + at 40 weeks and I may need to be induced.
I gave birth naturally the day after my due date and he was 8lb 4oz
My daughter was estimated at over 9lbs too at 40 weeks. I went 2 weeks overdue so was expecting a 10lber however she only weighed 7lb 6oz
I really wouldn’t pay a huge amount of attention tbh xx

Bells3032 · 07/12/2021 12:04

at 28 weeks she was about 2lbs 11oz and at 30 weeks she was 3lb 9oz. listed as 44th percentile

fastandthecurious · 07/12/2021 15:44

Just had one at 28 +5 and she was about 3lb
My DS measured 99th centile the whole way and was born at 39 weeks at a healthy 9lbs almost

Chely · 07/12/2021 16:37

With our twins we had growth scan around then but I wasn't given weight estimate until 32+5 of 5lb each, born 38wk 8lb 5oz & 8lb 11oz.
Our latest singleton was estimated 5lb 4oz @ 31+6, 7lb 12oz @ 35+6, born 38+6 10lb 15oz. 2 of our others were big too but I was never given weights at their growth scans, eldest was a lovely average weight.

8dpwoah · 07/12/2021 16:43

Don't take too much notice is my advice- we were measuring as though we'd have an SGA/10th centile at that gestation, early induction, all sorts.

As things panned out we went to 41weeks and had a 40th centile baby because at our 36 week appointment she'd had some sort of spurt!

But you can ask your midwife to have a look at your growth chart and predict roughly what size you might get if growth carried on as it is, after you've got the scan measurements. Always nice to see your baby on-screen anyway!

Chely · 07/12/2021 16:45

Oh and I was booked for an elcs with the latest but she decided she was coming a day earlier. I laboured over 20 hours before surgery and had scar rupture from the twins cs so lost a lot of blood. Our son (2nd) was measuring 4wk ahead on growth but they were going to leave me until 2 weeks overdue before induction, I had slow labour (was 1cm @ 39+6) and he came out at 40+5 10lb 12oz. I had an unassisted vaginal birth with just 14mins pushing so not too bad.

Thanks for all your responses everyone. I really appreciate it. I will just see what the scan brings and trust they know what they are doing! Nice to know everyone's stories ❤️

Just updating this,

Had my growth scan today and babies estimated weight is 2lbs 9oz! Baby is measuring bang on which is a relief. Was worried about baby measuring big due to GD!

Confused521 · 15/12/2021 19:03

Mine was 3lb 3oz at 30 weeks, bang on what was expected.

Blxo94 · 15/12/2021 19:15

@confused521 same here pretty much! Have you had baby yet? If so how big were they at birth?x

OP posts:
Blxo94 · 15/12/2021 19:15

I'm just curious as my son had fetal growth restriction and he was only born 5lbs 11oz on his due date!

Not yet, due in early Jan. I'll try and rember to update you (please give me a nudge!)

Confused521 · 15/12/2021 19:19

My other two were 7lb 9oz (term) and 7lb 4oz at 37w so my wild, uneducated estimate is around 8 and half lbs to 9lbs but I'll let you know ;)

Blxo94 · 26/12/2021 15:01

@confused521 looking forward to your update! Massive good luck for January ❤️
