Braxton hicks

I'm almost 29 weeks pregnant and the last few days I've been getting sharp pains lower stomach on the left, but my stomach doesn't get hard.

Do you think this is Braxton hicks ?

Also I'd love to know what yours feel like to start with?

Mine felt like all of my stomach muscles were contracting and holding. It exhausted me!

If your stomach doesn't get hard I don't think they are BH, no. Also I don't think they would ever be sharp pains - more like an uncomfortable period cramp like feeling, as the uterus is literally contracting. Maybe you should mention the pain to your midwife or call the advice line if there is one for your hospital?

My first BH felt like baby was doing a twisty somersault, and now they are quite strong and the bump goes a very odd tight shape. But if there is pain then it is all over and crampy. (37 weeks and getting an awful lot!)

Thank you both! I have a meeting with my high risk consultant first thing in the morning so I will mention it to her as it's really painful but doesnt last long at all 😊

They didn't really answer my question, I have to go back in 4 weeks for another checkup as baby was very low (!!) and very big (3 pound 10 oz at 29 weeks)

They just said it's nothing to be worried about but to monitor it, and if it becomes regular, or more intense to call the triage line 😱

I think I'm worrying more because they didn't have an actual answer, but I'm just hoping it's baby head butting me or something x
