16 week 3D scan- bit concerned!

Has anyone else been given a sneak peek of their baby in 3D at their gender scan and been a bit concerned!

The baby looked like it had no nose and a Homer Simpson/monkey month.

That sounds awful because of course I will love it to pieces no matter how it looks. But it’s still worries me for it’s own sake.

I know it is super early for these types of scan and it wasn’t something I asked for, and now I really wish they hadn’t done it!

Just looking for a bit of reassurance?

Thank you!

We had a 3D scan at 16 weeks, baby looked like Voldemort. We could only really see eye sockets. It's completely normal :)

If you Google 3d scan at 16 weeks you will see that description is pretty standard for 16 weeks gestation, their facial features are nowhere near formed properly yet xx

Search on here as someone said similar recently. Placenta and stuff distorts so much!

I honestly think it'll be absolutely fine - all the examples of 3D scans I've seen at around 16 weeks look bizarre (which is why I think they shouldn't do "previews" as it's more likely to put people off from booking them, than encourage them Smile). Google them to make yourself feel better!

To be honest, I'm not even sure they look that great from 26weeks onwards (the "standard" time to get them done) as fluid distorts the pictures so easily. I'm planning to book one at about 28 weeks anyway as I got a really cheap groupon deal and I'm curious/it's been a couple of months since my last scan, but I am slightly concerned about what I'll see (even in later third trimester 3D scan pics, the babies seem to look so much better in the real life "comparison" pics that I'm not sure whether I'll regret doing it! Grin)

I saw an MRI scan of my own head and nearly passed out it was so weird looking.

I’m totally gorgeous btw!!!! Grin

OMG I had a sneak peek at 18 weeks and baby looked horrifying Grin Literally just a freaky skull. I'll attach some pics. At 32 weeks he was gorgeous!! Don't worry at all! It's just too early to see a proper baby.
