Anyone else 40+ weeks pregnant?

It’s my due date today and I’ve had a few instances now since 38 weeks where I thought things were ramping up but then it all stopped! My first baby came 39+6 ..think I just assumed second babies would come sooner as your body knows the score! Nope!

Me and husband also decided to do a mini lockdown since 38 weeks to avoid getting covid during labour..our daughter has been out of nursery and rapidly running out of ways to entertain her. We’re still going to outdoor play parks every day but avoiding germy soft play etc...seemed like a good idea but the thought of 2 more weeks potentially seems rough!

Is anyone else due around now? ...writing this while bouncing up and down frantically on my ball 😁

I’m not 40+ I’m at 39+2, but I’m feeling very similar. My first came at 37 weeks so I assumed this one would be early too. My husband has been working from home for the past month just in case, and I’m really struggling to keep my toddler entertained as it’s hard to get out and about.

Keep thinking things are about to get going and then it comes to nothing too.

@SparrowNest this sounds very familiar! My husbands working from home too and think we’re all going a bit stir crazy! ..I can imagine if your first came at 37 weeks you would feel ‘overdue’ just going beyond that point...I feel like this and I’m only a day ahead of when I had my daughter.

Fingers crossed things get started for us both soon! I seem to have a day of cramps / sharp stabby pains down below / bits of mucus plug etc and then a day of barely feeling like I’m even pregnant...it’s so frustrating 😬

40 + 5 here with first baby. Totally fed up and not even a twinge. Slight bit of jelly discharge but nothing exciting. Had two sweeps so far but cervix has been closed so nothing could be done. Cannot wait for this to be over.. just so fed up of being useless at most tasks!! Midwife appointment tomorrow so going to see what she says re induction etc.

@Pixieandpip sorry to hear that your baby is taking his / her time as well! Every day just seems to get longer and longer doesn’t it..I’ve had so many false starts that I think when it actually does kick off I won’t believe it until baby appears on the kitchen floor!

Good luck at your midwife appointment tomorrow. I’ve got my next one on weds..previously said I didn’t want any sweeps but just want baby to arrive now
