since week 24ish have had constant loose bm, sometimes diarrhea but totally different to pre-pregnancy. thankfully not multiple times a day but makes my stomach upset & just feeling down.. at 33 weeks now.

Checked out by midwife & hopsital - no reason given. no prenatal vitamin taking

Everything i read says it should be constipation women suffer with so feeling abnomral

anyone else?

Hey,

I've had this ever since I found out! Coming up to 14 weeks and still have it! Midwife didn't see it as a concern and put it down to hormones

chilliplant634 · 05/12/2021 19:24

I had the opposite problem. But I empathise with you. It was truly terrible and so uncomfortable. Have you tried increasing your intake of insoluble fibre to try and bulk up the stools? Psyllium husk, all bran etc.

Garman · 05/12/2021 21:56

Yeah it went away after of course, its the hormones that do it.

I had this every pregnancy - it went hand in hand with morning sickness at first then improved a bit but things were still “sensitive” and then towards the end I think it got worse again!

It all went away afterwards though! I do get it around my period though.

Just make sure you are well hydrated and eat well etc.

I've had diarrhea this morning and the other day a bit, I'm just 5 weeks 2 days.... the EPU said it could be overflow she said, as I've had pretty severe constipation since before BFP. She said not to worry about it though, so I'm going to not think about it :)

Thanks @Nala97 for sharing you've had it from very early on too. I had an ectopic previously and has similar with that so constipation and diarrhea..... so my worry was obviously a bit of fear that does it mean having diarrhea now means it could be like last time. But the lady at EPU said they don't see any links between ectopic and diarrhea and it's more likely to be overflow. Plus this time my constipation is way more severe than last pregnancy.

Also, does anyone know what it means when you have mild cramps in the uterus area on/around the day you'd expect your period and then get a BFP? I had those this time, but not with the previous ectopic, so I'm hoping it might have indicated that there is activity in the womb unlike last time when there wasn't.

It was only very mild cramps, not pain.... then no period. But I didn't get those last time. Thanks!

@TianaC
Hey,

I had and still have cramping now and again
In the early days I had cramping a lot and it's everything stretching and moving around.

I'm now 14 weeks and having cramps again on and off which is just where things are expanding inside 🥰

TianaC · 10/12/2021 16:17

@Nala97 Ah I see, okay, that gives me hope that this time the little one made it to the right place! As I didn't feel any cramps with the ectopic one. I haven't had them as much since that day (missed period), but I think it could be a good sign I got them then.

Also thanks for sharing about your diarrhea stuff from early on, I'm just keeping really positive about it all. We have a scan at 7 weeks 6 days on 28th Dec :) Thank you so much for sharing!!

Nala97 · 10/12/2021 16:23

@TianaC

I was always told as long as there's no bright red blood or the cramps are way too painful then it's nothing to worry about

I know it's hard not to worry... I had a miscarriage in February and since getting pregnant in the early days every little twinge made me panic. I ended up getting 2 early scans and then once the 12 week scan came the anxiety started to ease. It still is a scary time but I'm just glad I've got to where i am now 🤞🏻

Literally every day. It’s been a long 30+ weeks!

First half constipated, second half so far loose. Great fun!
