Hi ladies im 30weeks pregnant the past week I've been unable to sleep due to a bad cough. Coughing up thick green junk I'm taking paracetamol what takes the edge of a little but I feel so drained I also seem to be worse in the early hours and first thing when I wake up my left ear is completely muffled also. My worry is because I'm pregnant has anyone had flu or a chest infection which has caused problems for there unborn baby? I am thinking of going to see a doctor on Monday if I'm no better. X

I would see a doctor right now.

I had a very mucousy cough a few weeks ago that sounds similar, but it went within a week or so and never felt scary/dangerous. I’ve currently got Covid at 36 weeks pregnant Sad

I’d ring a doctor if you feel like it’s getting scary and affecting your breathing etc but I really wouldn’t worry too much about baby - they’re pretty well protected in there.

You’ve had a PCR?

I'm 20 weeks and I currently have this (constant cough and green mucus cough) and have done for a few weeks now. I had a negative pcr on Monday and saw the dr on Tuesday who said it's just viral so she couldn't give me anything.

She recommended using vicks on my chest and olbas oil (I use it in a humidifier during the night) as well as having halls soothers for my throat and hope it passes soon

Unlikely to be flu due to cough, but if you're covid pcr negative I'd go and see a GP asap

Get yourself a little vicks humidifier for night time. They really help.

Plus menthol crystals and steam to de clog!

I had this last week. GP gave amoxicillin and it cleared it up. I'm 27w
