Unable to conceive after chemical pregnancy

Hi Ladies

I had a chemical pregnancy around 3 months ago and had regular periods ( 30-32 days cycle ) since then. I've been having sex at the right time during ovulation ( I use opk and go by ewcm) but I'm still not getting pregnant.

Has anyone else gone through the same thing where it took time to conceive after a chemical but went on to have a successful pregnancy?

Please advise,

Thanks!

I have! I had a chemical 3 months before conceiving this pregnancy (currently 20 weeks)... I also was using clearblue monitor then we moved so we're super busy so didn't use the monitor and had sex once the cycle we conceived (after activity trying for the months before). It will happen xx

Hi Nina - thanks for your reply , it gives me some hope !

So you were also trying in the consecutive months after your chemical and now your currently pregnancy is going fine?

Were your cycles consistent post chemical?

I'm just trying to think why it's not happening ! Confused

Thanks c

I have not had an chemical pregnancy but I had a MMC in May and I got pregnant in October.

IgneousRock · 04/12/2021 18:19

Even if you get the timing right, the chance of getting pregnant is only around 20% (or more or less depending on your age) each month - it doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong OP. Hopefully it will happen for you soon!

Thanks Igneous!

Hello,

Congrats ! Were you also trying between May and October or took a break ?

I wouldn’t worry if it’s been 3 months. I know the disappointment every month is hard but as igneous said upthread even with timing everything perfectly it’s still a 20-30% chance of conception every month.

I’m expecting my third baby. It took me 5 months to conceive my first, 1 month for my second and 8 months for this one. It’s just luck of the draw every month so fingers crossed it will be your month soon. Sorry to hear about the chemical.

@aja86 yes - tried 2 months after using the clearblue fertility monitor, then fell pregnant the 3rd month without using anything!

Current pregnancy absolutely fine so far - very active boy with long legs the sonographer said at my 20 week scan!!

Cycles sometimes off but usually between 28-30 days.

Just give it time and it'll happen - I know it's hard when you think it's not - before the chemical we were trying for 4 months xx

@aja86 I had a chemical on month 1 TTC and then again month 6. It then took another 10 months to get the next BFP. This one stuck and I'm now 36 weeks pregnant so don't lose hope!

It took us 2 years to get pregnant using OPKs and timing sex. I would just say give it more time. Sending baby dust xx
