Baby prep/gifts

Hi all!
Just wondering how much stuff you bought for baby coming?! I’m currently 20 weeks and have bought a few fair outfits etc already but family and friends are telling me to stop as we will be gifted things. We will obviously be so grateful for anything we receive however I don’t want to depend on this in case there’s things we aren’t bought - I like knowing I’m prepared basically!
What did you buy/how much of each? What do people tend to gift?
I hope this makes sense - just don’t want to end up with 100s of one thing and nothing of another! Thanks x

I’d buy everything you need tbh. Gifts we got were things like books and outfits. I assume if someone is offering to buy you a big ticket item they’ll communicate with you to make sure they get you the one that suits you.

Although actually I’m going to suggest this time round that if people (my mum basically) are going to give us clothes, that they buy slightly bigger sizes as they’re just in babygrows for the first few months.

This has been my thinking too!! We’ve had some family offer to buy bigger items so we’re prepared for that but I’m being guilt tripped when I’m buying all the cute things! 🤣
