Hi, thanks for reading this and I hope you can help.

I find myself pregnant for the 3rd time in 6 months having m/c'd in July and then October. I have not yet seen a specialist and therefore have no idea what if anything might have caused previous m/c. I have read on MN about people who have not yet being diagnosed taking "baby asprin" and need to know if anyone would recommend this? whether there is any harm in it? and because I'm a bit dumb whether "baby asprin" differs from normal asprin?

As you can imagine I am terrified of losing this one as well, but feel as though it is already slipping away from me.

Hi, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along in a minute, but didn't want this to go unanswered.

Firstly, baby aspirin is basically low dose aspirin, 75mg. Same drug as you would take for headache, but lower dose.

I would not take it except on medical advice. You would only be recommended to take it if you have been investigated and found to have a clotting problem that is thought to contribute to your m/cs. Taking aspirin or ibuprofen at normal doses can increase your risk of m/c, so please don't take anything unless on medical advice

I'm really sorry for your previous losses, I know how hard it is to remain positive and confident now. Can you get an early reassurance scan at EPAC? How far gone are you?

Hitoastandmincepieaddict, thanks for bumping my posting. I'm very early only 4+3, trying to get in to see the doctor today but whether they will even acknowledge before 6 weeks is doubtful. Issue is that both m/c happened between week 6 & 7 previously so by the time they acknowledge the pregnancy, it's over!

Desparate to try something different this time, so that the control freak in me at least feels as thought I'm doing something but I have no idea what?

Hi Justjules - Due to it being so early I reckon it might be chromosonal but have had no tests and to be honest I stopped researching as I was beginning to wonder how the human race ever got this far.

I'm 37 and have no children as of yet, which concerned my doctor enough to refer me but not seeing the consultant until Dec 31st. I also wasn't suppossed to conceive in the meantime but old habits die hard

I was just clutching at straws with the asprin thing as I've read it on this site a few times and not too surprisingly I'm willing to give anything a go, if I thought it would do no harm.

With regards to your other questions which I somwhow managed to miss.

Cycle 28 days almost without fail, even after previous m/c's, If the depth of the blue line is an indicator hcgs is stronger this time than it was last time and I've only ever been scanned when the pregnancy was failing!

I'm slightly concerned that my boobs don't hurt this time as the last twice they have been my first indicator that I was pregnant and the first indicator that the pregnancy's were failing. The night I got undressed without going "ouch" I knew I was in trouble. However as I said above, dark blue, fast appearing line on the clearblue this time so who know's. Would it be possible that my boobs just don't hurt as much this time as they've been to this stage twice before?

Hi mich

Congrat's on the pg, i so understand wanting to do something to try and help little bean, i had 2 m/c's and was starting to get tested when i got pg again. I took nothing and had healthy baby boy, then m/c'd again after and then got throughly tested, the jury was a bit out on if i should take asprin or not, but i did. my results indicated borderline clotting.
Some think aspirin helps, some not. try and ask family if anyone has thrombolpilia, or blood clotting as it can be genetic.

to my knowledge you can't test for this now you are pg, so not sure what they will do, try and be as positive as possible. best advice i have is to take your vitamins and rest, and distract yourself as much as possible, easier said than done i know.

good luck lots of support on here.

Hi sorry for your losses. I have had 3 mcs. My blood test for the blood clotting came back normal but I heard about aspirin and asked my consultant who said well the test is not always accurate and it wouldnt do any harm to take. Obviously she said that knowing my full medical history. So I would ask your gp if there is any reason why you shouldnt take it. I then went on to have two boys wheather that was because of the aspirin I cant say for sure. It is the same as normal aspirin just lower dose 75mg. You can take it over the counter. I hope all goes well

Hi,

I two had 2 prev. m/c (no previous blood clotting problems) and on this pregnancy (first time seeing a specialist) he recommend baby asprin and progesterone suppositories to be taken up until 14 weeks. My specialist said the asprin had something to do with increasing the blood flow to the baby heart..?

I am now 21 weeks and all seems to be going full steam ahead - not sure if this is due to asprin/progesterone or just third time lucky?

My line was also stronger this time round that last too (although saying that not sure how relevant this is as maybe I tested too early last time round!)

All the best for this pregnancy - I too felt it was a long road to go in early pregnancy but managed to get this far ok (with alot of stressing!)hopefully it will be same for you.

Cheers

Hi all, thanks for all the advice and good wishes. I've put test in at the doctors but they won't make me an appointment until they get the results, which will be Friday at the earliest. I will hopefully still be preganant by then and can ask the asprin question.

I've just been out and bought Pregnacare to try and appease the control freak in the meantime. Probably makes no darn difference but let's face it I have nothing to lose by trying.

Currently thinking 3rd time lucky and I'm sure the lone Magpie lurking in the garden this morning meant nothing!

Is it just me or does this stuff drive everyone else slightly mad
