Yes!!! I did the pack with my husband and I would recommend hypnobirthing to anyone. For context- before doing the course I definitely assumed it would be “to hippy-dippy” for me (it’s not at all, it’s really factual and based on anatomy, physiology and psychology). I also assumed I would opt for an epidural during labour, “no prizes for being in pain etc” but mid way through the course I actually switched to my local home birth team and planned a water birth in my living room! I completely credit the course for me being able to go into labour feeling excited and confident, I wasn’t scared at all during labour (well, maybe a little during transition but thanks to the course I understood what was happening and that it was normal!) and I believe it helped my body birth my baby. I felt confident that if anything didn’t go to plan I could weigh up my choices and still have a positive birth. In the end the home birth team were with another woman when I went into labour so I made the decision to go into hospital and gave birth on the labour ward. I had an intervention free physiological birth using breathing techniques to manage contractions. The course was worth every penny, it really helped my husband understand his role as my birth partner too. I would also really recommend checking out birth photographers on Instagram, normalising birth through looking at photos of vaginal births really helped me get over my fear of birth and realise how bloody amazing our bodies are.
