I've been frequently opening my bowels (soft not diarrhoea) for the past few days now (this is not usual for me, I am constipated even when not pregnant)...I have had back ache and period like cramping on and off mainly since yesterday evening and believe I am losing small amounts of my mucus plug this afternoon (clear, snot like)..I am 33 weeks pregnant due to be induced at 37 weeks due to baby being a lot smaller than he should be! Is this the start of preterm labour or does this mean nothing??? THANK YOU

I think your best bet is to call triage to be sure.

I think you should call your midwife or delivery suite just to be cautious and for reassurance. Hope all goes well

I gave birth recently at 31+4, I had similar symptoms, called triage and the monitor wasn’t picking up my contractions, so make sure they check properly.
Baby is now 34+2 and doing well, nicu is a hard journey but they are experts.

@SpookyHalloween @wallyrag I thought I should but didn't want to sound silly for doing so! Will give them a call now! Thank you!

All genuine concerns you have - if it is premature labour then you're in the right place, if not, you're reassured.

Keeping fingers crossed for you that it isn’t but that if it is, you get well looked after and baby is fighting fit. Let us know how you get on.
