Hi mumsnetters....

Attached is my test using first response early result.... someone tell me I'm going mad - can anyone else see the VERY faint second line?

A little in disbelief as only dtd once this month using pull out method but it was right around my ovulation I think. For reference - I'd be thrilled if I was pregnant but we just weren't actively trying!

I'm about 5/6 days away from my period I think.

Advice / thoughts please!!! What do you see?! BFN or BFP?! Can a FRER be wrong??

Thanks xx

I can see the very faint line but it’s so faint you can’t tell if it has any colour. I’d wait a few days and test again before getting excited.

AsleepOnTheTrain · 01/12/2021 13:30

Definitely no lime yet

sunsetsandsea · 01/12/2021 14:02

Thank you! The picture isn't great but it's a bit more noticeable in real life. I'm going to wait until Friday and test again.... let's see!

I can see a line.

babyboybluex · 01/12/2021 14:36

I can see it... test again in 48-72 hours x

Jammiedodger27 · 01/12/2021 14:44

I can see a line but unsure if it’s an indent or actual line. You now have the dreaded 2 day wait to see if it gets any darker!

sunsetsandsea · 01/12/2021 14:51

Haha @Jammiedodger27 what an awful wait!! I wish hcg would rise by the hour 🤪😂 I already have a 13 month old daughter and my line was sooooo faint on my first test with her so I'm feeling like it's very similar but we shall see - not the end of the world either way but I am definitely ready to be a mum to two when the times right! (Must be mad!) Xx

My BFP started like this, but I've never seen an indent line on any of my FRER, they are either a stalk negative or the start of a positive.

Others have different experiences. But my first BFP on FRER was lighter than that, and it got darker every day. I'd test tomorrow and see.

Sending baby dust to you! ❤

Just took another pic.... feel like it's a bit clearer but definitely a squinter! I'll report back in a couple of days 😊

Thank you @SugarlumpsesBumpses 🥰 now to break the news to my partner! 🤣🙏🏻

Will you do it with fanfare or just tell your DP normally?

I remember having loads of exciting plans on how to tell DH and ended up being too excited and blurting it out.

She's now 15 months and pulling all the stuff off the radiators 😂

sunsetsandsea · 02/12/2021 14:41

Lol @SugarlumpsesBumpses well this is a (happy) accident.... so I'm really nervous. We have a 13 month old daughter together and he has two others from a previous relationship and he wasn't sure if he deffo wanted anymore so I am nervous. We only dtd once! And he pulled out (obviously unsuccessfully)! Feels like a bit of a miracle to be honest 😂 any tips on how to break the news?! I was just going to sit him down for a 'chat'!! I know he'll be worrying from a financial perspective 😥 xx

OP posts:
SugarlumpsesBumpses · 02/12/2021 14:46

In that case sitting down for a chat is probably best then, and keeping excited whilst also being realistic on finances going forward.

Luckily, your 13 month old will be 21/22 months by the time baby is here providing no early arrivals, and then you have your Mat leave - and hopefully you get 9 months? So that takes you to 30 months old so not too far off being able to access 3 year old funding and take some of the financial strain off. Ignore that if you're a SAHM.

Maybe tell him, and give yourselves time to be excited, and then plan to have some time together when all kids in bed and a couple of hours spare, and look at all the baby stuff you already have and make lists to start planning financially for what you need. It will help you feel productive x

sunsetsandsea · 02/12/2021 15:50

Aww thank you @SugarlumpsesBumpses that is really sound advice and I shall take it on board when I speak with him. Fingers crossed all goes ok! I'll report back 😅🙏🏻 xx
