Cyst on scan

Hi
Just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same and any advice. We had a private scan for reassurance at 8 weeks at the weekend, heard and saw the heartbeat which was lovely and baby is growing as expected.

They did however see a 5.7cm by 5.7cm cyst in my right ovary. I have never had any problems to suggest I may have a cyst or anything prior to this. Has anyone else had the same? Did it cause any problems during your pregnancy?
Thanks

I had one and it was completely harmless and had disappeared by 12 weeks. They are super common and not anything to worry about. My sonographer who noticed it at 7 weeks said to mention it at the 12 week scan, but they usually go away on their own.

That's really useful thank you. I wasn't sure if I needed to call the midwife team to let them know but maybe I will just wait until my 12 week scan and go from there!

Mine was also noticed on a private scan and hasn’t ever caused any issues.

I had one at my 12 week scan for my first pregnancy. I had a follow up scan a few weeks later (ie before 20 weeks) - I can’t remember if this was because of the cyst or for another reason. Anyway, at the second scan it was gone.

I had one it gave me no issues it was found on my scan at 12 weeks, removed when I had a c section. I've since had a second child.
