I had slowly creeping blood pressure from about 34 weeks. Midwife was just monitoring until it reached 140/94 and then I was sent to triage for checks.
Triage were happy so discharged me and never mentioned delivering baby early.
Once my BP reached 160/90 they were more concerned and then decided on induction immediately.
I delivered my little girl 5 days ago.
Nobody mentioned an elective section when my BP was high so unsure if this would be offered or not.
How high is your BP? Do they think it could related to pre-eclampsia?

@Flutterby8

I got sent to hospital yesterday
Because blood pressure was
148/90
Doctor wanted to admit me
But
After medication it went down to 120
So was let home
Got to go back today

I lost my homebirth 😭
Baby is fully engaged
And
My anxiety has gone thru the roof

@tashx

I really sympathise as ive been through exactly the same in the last week.
At least with medication your blood pressure improved, mine didnt sadly and they admitted me there and then for induction.
I was terrified and didnt know what was going to happen which really didnt help the situation.
I had my heart set on a water birth but because i had high BP this was ruled out immediately as I needed to have constant monitoring. I was so upset because it wasnt what I had planned.
So i understand how you feel with regards to your home birth.

But.....

Even though things were completely out of my control and moved way quicker than i expected and wanted, my beautiful baby girl was born healthy.
It wasnt the best start and it was upsetting at the time but looking back, the hospital staff were absolutely amazing and they honestly made the process as smooth as they could.
High BP in pregnancy is so dangerous and I admit I was blind to the fact it could have so many consequences for both of us.
Let the hospital guide you and take on board their advice.
It will be ok, just try to relax as much as you can for now (i was so angry when people told me this but it really is true).
Your beautiful baby will be here soon and all these worries will honestly not matter anymore. Please focus in the end result and keep your spirits up 😊
