Labour with cold or flu?

Posted loads lately, so sorry in advance.

41 weeks tomorrow, have a sweep booked and whilst I’m hopeful it works, I’ve got a shitty cold / flu. All coughy, snotty, achy, not sleeping the works. PCR negative so we know it’s not covid (thank god). Anyone gone into labour with a cold/flu? I’m wondering if like my body won’t let it happen due to being weaker? Or actually if I’m coughing so damn much I won’t be able to cope with it?

Happy to be told I’m a big fat baby!

Going to call docs tomorrow to see if they can recommend anything for me to take to help me get better ASAP, but if anyone knows any OTC meds that are safe/ work would be brill. So far it’s been honey hot water lemon, strepsils and Vicks xx

I had a bad cold which started about 3 days before I gave birth to my first..during labour I didn’t notice it at all but within 30 mins of giving birth I suddenly remembered how ill I was and it reappeared with a vengeance! I had a really nice straight forward birth though so it didn’t impact anything :)

I’m due to give birth any day now and have an ear infection and burst eardrum...it’s just my thing it seems 😁

Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
