Hi all, I thought I might start a new thread in the pregnancy pages to see how you guys are getting on? @littlemiss41andfabulous you must be due fairly soon? Hope everyone is well…

I’m now 13 weeks - had my NIPT results back last week and all was low probability, which was a relief for me. Also found out I am having a little girl! Which will be new for me as I have boys so far… allowing myself to relax a little bit now with some major hurdles out of the way.

Hello to anyone other 40+ ladies out there and anyone I missed from our TTC thread… drop a note to say hi and let’s share how our journeys are going 😊

Hi everyone,
I had a private early reasurance scan this morning and sadly baby is only measuring 6.0 weeks at 8.4, there was posibly a little flickering heart beat but it really was so small, could see yolk sac, fetal pole, little flicker not much else. I am sure of my dates so I don't feel any hope that i ovulated later and LMP and when I tested positive for pregnancy wouldnt fit in with only being 6 weeks. The sonographer sould see something on my ovary too that is probably a cyst but have been booked onto the EPU for a scan Monday afternoon to rule out ectopic. Good luck with your pregnancies ladies, its great to see so many successful stories on here x

burtle4 · 09/01/2022 01:08

@skeletonbones I'm so sorry to hear this. It's just the worst feeling to be told that things aren't as they should be at a scan. I guess with the tiny flicker of a heartbeat there's still a tiny flicker of hope, it could just be a slow grower and will catch up? Either which way I will be thinking of you on Monday, I hope there's no ectopic at least. Take care of yourself Flowers

Onehotmessiah · 10/01/2022 20:07

My waters broke this morning and haven’t stopped since! I’m 38+3. Currently being kept in overnight due to previous csection but contractions not ramping up at all! I really want another VBAC (I had successful VBAC previously) any tips to get this baby moving?! X

Wildrobin · 11/01/2022 01:29

Onehotmessiah I really hope all goes well!

burtle4 · 11/01/2022 11:24

@Onehotmessiah good luck, hope things start progressing soon!
@skeletonbones how did your scan go yesterday?

skeletonbones · 25/01/2022 21:08

Thanks for asking Burtle, just seen this. The scan showed the baby had died sadly, I had surgery yesterday to remove the pregnancy at 1 day off 11 weeks. I've come to terms with it now, though its sad I am so very lucky to have 4 children! Best of luck everyone and was lovely chatting. maybe I'll be back for another go but I might also feel I've had my last little one and will just enjoy the blessings I have :-) xx

burtle4 · 25/01/2022 22:37

@skeletonbones i'm so sorry to hear that 😔 can't believe you've only just had it removed all this time later, that must have been a very hard few weeks for you. I'm glad you're feeling like you've made your peace with it though and I'm sure your children are very good at making you feel better. Take care x

Hi everyone,

Little Elena arrived via C-section on Tuesday 25th January, weighing 8lb 6oz. Currently sleep deprived but enjoying these first few days as her 41,nearly 42 year old mummy ❤️

Hello ladies 40+ and Pregnant! 😀
burtle4 · 27/01/2022 11:12

Congratulations! She's gorgeous! Enjoy your newborn bubble, it goes so fast. Hard to believe my boy is nearly 7 weeks and starting to reward us with some smiles 🥰

SerendipitySunshine · 28/01/2022 15:52

Congratulations @Littlemiss41andfabulous - what a beauty!

SerendipitySunshine · 28/01/2022 15:53

Congratulations @burtle4 - seven weeks, wow! He is gorgeous.

Honey2 · 03/02/2022 20:33

@Littlemiss41andfabulous ah how wonderful! Congratulations. I remember on the TTC thread when you got your positive! She is beautiful and a lovely name too.

I had a growth scan and arterial dopler check today to make sure blood flow to baby is all good. Everything looks fine so far fingers crossed.

Here’s a little picture, I think she hails such a cute nose even if I do say so myself lol 🤣

@Honey2 sorry I got distracted and didn't reply to your previous post. What a lovely scan picture. So glad all looks well.

How is everyone doing? Elena is almost 9 weeks now and breastfeeding and sleeping well so not feeling too zombie like. Weirdly I'm finding it hard to remember what it felt like being pregnant now she's here. Thankfully recovery from the cesearean has been complication free for this geriatric mother!!!!!

I turned 42 this week and celebrated by proudly taking her to the postnatal baby class I've joined! Smile

Morning ladies - anyone out there pregnant at 46. Shocked, confused and looking for others in my situation

Honey2 · 27/03/2022 08:25

@Littlemiss41andfabulous that lovely news about Elena, sounds like it is going really well. Congratulations on your bday! My 42nd is in 6 weeks time… to be honest I’ve totally gotten over the worries about what people think about me having a bay as an ‘older mum’ now. Everyone has been so kind and happy for us I really don’t think it seems that unusual these days! We had a 4D scan yesterday @30 weeks. Little Miss we hiding but managed to get some lovely pics. Can’t wait!

@Courage7 congratulations on your pregnancy. Not quite in your situation (coming up to 42) but here to offer support however you need it. You say you are shocked - so this wasn’t planned? The Drs and midwives I’ve had have been very supportive. Xx

@Honey2 wow, those scan pics are amazing, it's like you've already met her! Enjoy the next 10 weeks, like @Littlemiss41andfabulous says, it's hard to remember being pregnant now! Dexter was 15 weeks yesterday and totally gorgeous. Loving having a baby again and watching his personality come through and seeing all his developments. He's also sleeping pretty well after weeks and weeks of waking to feed every two hours so I'm definitely out of the newborn sleep fog! Just got the 4 month sleep regression to look forward to now!
@Courage7 congratulations! It doesn't sound like it was planned but as previous posters have said, it's not uncommon to have children in your 40's now and although I'm only 40 myself I didn't find anyone to be judgemental or unkind. Do you have other children? I have a 10 and 8 year gap between my other two and this one and have found it absolutely amazing. Enjoying being able to spend alone time with Dexter but also loving how in awe my older two are of him, he's definitely completed our family!

Courage7 · 27/03/2022 10:49

Thanks for replying good to know there is a listening ear out there. It’s an unexpected blessing - have 2 DD 20 (second year Uni) and 15. It’s scary time went for ultrasound last week told was 5 weeks even though according to lmp should be 8 weeks, no heart beat detected.

Glad you are enjoying your little wish you the very best and pour in those years of wisdom into him. He will become good and knowledge for his age.

Courage7 · 27/03/2022 10:52

Thanks for responding and kind words to a total stranger. Surely there are nice people out there. Totally unplanned thought was peri menopausal. Glad you had a good supportive team- too early to comment on mine have been seen once

Looseleaf · 27/03/2022 19:24

Courage7 I felt shocked and confused too at first! 43 with a 15 and 10 year old. We now have about 2 weeks to go and really excited as it helped to have tome to absorb such an unexpected surprise. I love hearing of happy sibling bonds with big age gaps as heard of several families with similar and it all sounds very positive hopefully .
Congratulations and hope you are ok

@Courage7

Morning ladies - anyone out there pregnant at 46. Shocked, confused and looking for others in my situation
I’m 46 & currently 34 weeks pregnant with a surprise 4th baby. Gave up trying a couple of years ago following 4 miscarriages. It hasn’t been the smoothest of pregnancies but the baby appears healthy. Take it one day at a time, you’ll soon get your head around it, although it took me a while!!
Courage7 · 28/03/2022 04:09

Thanks for that - good to know that I am not exaggerating my feelings as you have been there. Good to hear you are doing well and I sincerely wish you the best. The last mile for you - must be tiring and exciting.

Courage7 · 28/03/2022 04:15

Congratulations and I am happy to hear you are settled in your new normal. I am trying to take it one day at a time. I am sure one day I will be in your position encouraging a newbie with an unexpected pregnancy at 46. The world goes round and situations don’t forever linger. Wishing you the very best.

Confused610 · 28/03/2022 04:34

I went for a ultrasound they, measured etc.. And said i was 13 weeks 5 days thats what they also wrote down, does this mean fetal at 13 weeks or would my fetal be 11 weeks and 5 days. Please help

Courage7 · 02/04/2022 19:54

Ladies I think my journey stops here. I have been spotting since Wednesday, heavy bleed on Thursday with clots then today lemon like size liver looking clot came out. Oh it was very scary will be seen tomorrow but there is no hope. Had severe abdominal cramps throughout

burtle4 · 02/04/2022 22:43

Oh I'm sorry to hear that @Courage7, I know the pregnancy was unexpected and you were trying to get your head around it but miscarriage is an awful experience no matter the circumstances. Hope you're ok and are being well supported, good luck for tomorrow and look after yourself x
