Haematoma

Hi ladies

For those who’ve had haematoma in pregnancy, how long did you have bleeding/spotting for?
Did you have any other symptoms?

Can you have a very small haematoma they can’t see on an ultrasound scan?

I’ve had them before. The bleeds stopped for me at around 18 weeks

K2012 · 28/11/2021 16:49

Hi @Werideatnoon Thank you for your reply. May I ask when your bleeding started and how much did you bleed? Every day? Hope you don’t mind me asking

Hey @K2012!

Currently going through this. Picked up at 13 weeks that I have one (6cm) and I've not long had a private scan (15+6 weeks) where the Sonographer said there is no active bleeding present and it is turning grey.

At 13 weeks I had fresh blood then a few more episodes of that where it's now brown and minimal (mostly first thing in the morning or when wiping).

How many weeks are you? x

K2012 · 28/11/2021 19:33

Hi @babyboybluex Thank you for your reply.

I’m 14 weeks now (IVF pregnancy)

At 8 weeks 5 days my dark brown spotting started (it was every time I wiped and lasted for 3 days) had a scan done 4 days after which showed a small haematoma. About 10 days after I had spotting again and had another scan where the sonographer said she couldn’t see the haematoma. Then between week 9-13 I’ve had the same spotting about 2-3 days a week. I stopped taking cyclogest 10 days ago and 4 days after the spotting started again has been there from Tuesday till today and like you said it’s in the morning about 2-3 times when I wipe. I had another scan done 3 days ago doctor said baby was fine and he couldn’t explain why I keep spotting as there’s no haematoma so I really don’t know what to do as it makes me very anxious ☹️

Not at all. Started about 7 weeks. I had several big bleeds. I mean, waking up covered in blood, passing clots the size of my fist-type of bleeds, with red/pink/brown spotting in between.

@Werideatnoon

Sounds very crazy.

But I’m glad to hear it’s stopped now @Werideatnoon

When is your next appointment? Fingers crossed it will stop by then.
Bleedings like these can happen during pregnancy, I remember I had some with my DS (natural pregnancy), but it would drive me completely mad now (IVF pregnancy almost)

laurenGame · 30/11/2021 00:05

I had mine at 5 weeks, bled/spotted for 2 weeks.
9 weeks now and no spotting at all, but can still see haematoma on a scan. It was 40% size of the baby.
I took it really easy and went on pelvic rest. Good luck try not to worry I know it's hard🤞

K2012 · 30/11/2021 14:22

Hi @dutchessmom My appointment is in 8 days. Hopefully everything is okay 🙏🏻 how long did you have bleeding for?

Hi @laurenGame I’m glad to hear your bleeding stopped. I will try not to worry but it’s hard xx

Had bleeding on & off for almost a month so far.

K2012 · 30/11/2021 14:41

Hi @Bubblemonkey mine has been on/off for 6 weeks now and I’m so scared ☹️

@K2012 I believe the brown bleeding can happen for a bit even if the SCH has resolved! As long as you aren't in pain or having anything fresh I would try and relax, it's great news that the Sonographer couldn't see it on your scan.

Today is the first day where I've had no brown when wiping so I'm hoping mines is almost gone or gone! It's a tiring thing to go through but being positive and looking after ourselves will make things easier Flowers

Fairy45 · 30/11/2021 20:01

In my last pregnancy I had bleeds from 8 weeks and a large haematoma was spotted at 14 weeks after a major bleed like wrap myself in towels to get to hospital bleeds. This took 2 weeks to settle and then had scans fortnightly to measure haematoma. Finally got all clear around 24 weeks, but don't remember bleeding beyond 19 weeks ish.
In this pregnancy I've had a bleed at 6 and then 9 weeks and only a very small area of blood found on scan, they said they wouldn't even class it as a haematoma. Hope you get past this part quickly cos it is very stressful. Sending love!

K2012 · 09/12/2021 10:32

Went to see the consultant yesterday and showed him the pictures of the spotting I normally have every week. I’m the last week I’ve only had spotting one day and he said since it’s brown he is not worried and it can be due to stress, lifting something heavy or other unknown reasons. I hope it will settle now 🙏🏻

Or due to infection, irritation of the cervix, old haematoma that’s coming out or hormone levels

Just wanted to share that we had a private gender scan today (will be finding out on Christmas Eve) and my Hematoma is completely gone! She couldn't see a thing.

6cm at 13 weeks ❤️
