Hi all, I'm due May 5th 💕
I'm 17 weeks 3 days and my 'bump' is tiny. I feel like I'm not growing at all, so also convinced that baby has stopped growing. I'll attach a pic, not sure my bump is normal, it is my first though.
Constantly getting comments saying I'm really small so it's really getting to me now. My next scan is on Thursday so fingers crossed everything's fine, the wait has been killing me.
Previous scans have been great and baby super active and good heart beat so trying to focus on that 🤞🏻❤️
How big were you at 17 weeks with your first? I'm pretty small build, 5ft 6. Is my bump normal?

Youre bigger then me and I'm 20 weeks with my third

There's so much variation it's hard to say
Your scan in a few weeks will tell you more it looks normal to me, your stomach

JustOneMoreStep · 28/11/2021 12:58

I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and don't have a noticeable bump at all.....midwife could 'feel my uterus' last week though. I am plus sized to start with though.

WakeUpLockie · 28/11/2021 12:59

Exactly the same for me.

MaisyMary77 · 28/11/2021 12:59

Looks normal. I’m 5’5, small build. My first didn’t show until 20 weeks. At 17 weeks I had no bump at all. 🙂

Garman · 28/11/2021 12:59

Looks totally normal, everyone is different. I have friends who showed at 12 weeks and are 5ft 8/10, I'm 5ft 7 and didn't have a noticeable bump until 30 weeks on my first, 24 weeks on my third. Once your midwife etc is happy with measurements there's no point worrying.

Vampiricouncil · 28/11/2021 13:00

This is why we are all different and have babies from 5lbs to 11lbs!

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 28/11/2021 13:03

Totally normal. I looked like I'd had a big lunch at worst with my first until 20 weeks when I suddenly went pop. If memory serves the baby starts to grow up outside of your pelvis at 20weeks so most people are quite small until then.
Don't stress, it's a good thing. Try finding a nice winter coat with a large bump 😂

Elsbeth1 · 28/11/2021 13:11

lol I'm getting the opposite comments
I'm 21 weeks and slightly smaller than the bump in your picture and I get comments like oh you're showing already I didn't show until I was 6 months Envy
I don't mind though everyone is different!

kowari · 28/11/2021 13:13

I was smaller than you at my wedding at 22 weeks.

mummyh2016 · 28/11/2021 13:14

I don't feel like you're that far off me and I'm 31 weeks!

kowari · 28/11/2021 13:18

DS was 8lb by the way, so small bump doesn't mean small baby

Sienna9522 · 28/11/2021 13:18

Looks perfectly normal to me. I was about that size at 25 weeks with my first. Didn’t properly show until 30 weeks.

BakedBeeeen · 28/11/2021 13:25

You are bigger than I was with my first, your baby is fine. I’m with you on all the comments though. It’s so worrying when people keep saying over and over again your bump is small. I really hated all the comments, it is constant and gets much worse when you are bigger and every random person you meet feels like they have to comment on your body in some way or other. It’s hard not to listen to other people but I would suggest ONLY listening to medical professionals and try and not listen to anyone else’s opinions! Good luck!

NoodlesPoodles · 28/11/2021 13:40

It's a completely normal bump so don't worry. Too many people have too many opinions on things that don't concern them, especially during pregnancy. I was around that size when I was 17 weeks with my first and everybody told me I was huge. Some people don't get a bump until 20+ weeks. It varies from person to person.

ronswansonstache · 28/11/2021 13:55

You look pretty much the same as me at 17 weeks! I'm 5'6" too and DD ended up being over 9lbs xx

bollocksthemess · 28/11/2021 14:24

I’m 5’6”, and currently 21 weeks pregnant with twins. I looked a bit like I’d had a big dinner at 17 weeks but then all of a sudden at 18 weeks I looked pregnant. My husband was away working in the week and got a shock when he came home!

You look a similar build to me, even with twins I fitted in my normal clothes until 18 weeks, just my jeans were a bit uncomfortable. Don’t worry too much, although I worry all the time!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 28/11/2021 15:16

I’m nearly 18 weeks with my third and I’m only a little bigger than you. I’m 5’7 and I think when you are tall-ish you can show later as the bump doesn’t pop out so soon.

With my first I had no noticeable bump until well after 20 weeks, even then it was still small. By the end I was enormous and people kept asking me if it was twins 😂

rach1stbaby · 29/11/2021 11:25

Thanks so much for your responses everyone 💕 safe to say I feel loads better now. I must remember to no listen to everyone's comments, maybe I'll get the opposite soon like some of you guys 😂 to them it's just a throw away comment but they don't realise the damage they can do making you think your baby has stopped growing - they are literally the centre of our universe of course we're going to stew on it! Thanks again
Xx

Tbh randomers comments would never make me think my baby had stopped growing.
