Any experiences where things have turned out okay? Had a big bleed this morning and went to hospital but nothing they can do over the weekend and have to wait for scan tomorrow.

Blood gushed out at about 8.30am this morning and I have had nothing really since and no cramps or pains so what are the chances of it being a one off.

this will be my fourth miscarriage so praying it is something of nothing.....

Sorry, I have no advice for you but I hope that everything is ok...good luck with your scan.

I had a bleed like you describe at just over 12weeks. A gush as I got up in the morning.
I had a scan which identified a small subplacental abruption. I was told to take things easy and to see how things went. I had a couple of small bleeds after that and some aches but it all settled down after 16weeks and pregnancy continued as normal to term. (well post-term as is normal for me).
Hope all is well for you.

I had exactly the same although it caried on in a smaller scale for another 6 weeks. No pain (which seemed to be good thing) and all was well when I went to EPU for scan. DS now 13mo.

Hope all is well. Good luck x

I'm kind of in the same boat lizzie unfortunately, I am now 10+4 weeks, had a bleed on Tuesday it started off red and a few clots but not bad enough to soil my knickers IYSWIM only when I wiped, I had some brown gunk Wednesday and Thursday and nothing since Thursday morning. EPU told me they don't have any appointments and only to phone back if I had more red blood or pain

On a positive note I had 2 bad bleeds at 9 and 10 weeks with DD1 and all was well.

becaroodolf · 16/12/2007 15:29

Brown is better than red....go to your GP and get an app at the EPU to put your mind at rest.

becaroodolf · 16/12/2007 15:30

kitymas...when you say a "bad bleeds"...what do you mean???

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 16/12/2007 15:37

I mean bright red blood and lots of it as opposed to say going to the loo and wiping afterwards and a bit of blood on the loo paper IYSWIM.

becaroodolf · 16/12/2007 18:17

I have been bleeding and losing clots since late thursday/ Friday...fear the worst. Seems to be slowing/stopping now. Got a scan on tuesday but I think its academic now.

choufleur · 16/12/2007 18:59

i had a bleeds throughout my pregnancy, after the first few i found out i had a cervical erosion, basically where some of the uterus lining grows outside of the cervis and can bleed. it always seemed like a lot of blood but i think so of that was down to gravity as i seemed to bleed more after i'dbeen lying down. Dr said that it can sort of collect inside and then when you stand up seem like its pouring out.
it wasn't painful at all either.
hope everything is ok for everyone who is woriied

Thanks for all your responses.

Thankfully things are fine, I went for a scan today and saw the baby with the little heart beat. They have no idea what caused the bleed but don't seem worried. As I am Rhesus negative they have said if it happens again I need to contact them asap for a Anti D injection but apart from that things look fine.

PHEW!

Kittymas and Becaroodolf how are you doing??

Hello Lizzie.

Sorry I havent posted before, but its been an awful few days...as I expected the scan showed that I had miscarried. Dont really understand why I got so upset...I knew I had lost the baby and yet when they told me I just fell apart. Feel completely bereft.

On the positive side, they also took some bloods to check my hormone levels and they are completely back to normal already which the EPU nurse explained means that I had a "Complete" miscarriage and that there is no foetal tissue left. (I could have done without the sonographer showing me my empty uterus on the screen though!!!)

How are you? Hope the bleeding has stopped...I have a 4.5 year old ds and I bled in that pregnancy too so it doenst always mean anything is going to happen

Merry Christmas x

Lizzie07 · 20/12/2007 15:09

Awwww love I am really sorry :hugs:

Having had 3 miscarriages I can fully understand that bereft feeling - even when you know in your heart there is still that tiny glimmer of hope and when it's taken away it's so final.....

I hope things work out for you next time.

Things are fine my end for the time being, keeping my fingers crossed though!

I hope you have a nice Christmas despite such sad news - thinking of you X

Hi becarro.

So sorry to hear your news.

Please be kind to yourself and give yourself time to grieve. Maybe when you are ready you might be able to find out why it happened - would this help?
