I’m so sorry I feel ridiculously stupid for posting here but I’ve got myself into a right mess and I don’t know what else to do. So as title says, how soon would you develop symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy?

Basically I had unprotected sex with my partner around ovulation 8 days ago, my period tracker said it was a chance to get pregnant.

Anyway yesterday I started having period cramps and when I wiped it was watery and pink.
Today now the cramps have continued and I have been bleeding all day, not heavy but bleeding when I wipe. The cramps are bad but I have suspected endometriosis so my cramps are always really bad with every period.

I have an anxiety disorder…and really bad health anxiety. Could this be implantation bleeding? I never bleed mid-cycle so I’m terrified.

My anxiety disorder is just making all this so much worse and I can’t let go of thinking it’s an ectopic pregnancy. Would I be showing symptoms this soon? I can’t take a pregnancy test yet because my period isn’t due until 7/12 so this is literally like 8 days after conception if I am pregnant.

Is this something I can talk to my GP about or will they just laugh at me because it’s so soon?

You could just be spotting that's normal but would definatly speak to GP about that. Also speaking from experience I didn't bleed with my ectopic pregnancy or even have pains.. was just very sick all the time with severe dizzyness and dehydration. I wouldn't worry too much as your most likely to cause yourself more anxiety! Also I doubt you would feel the effects of an ectopic pregnancy after 8 days it seems way to early but I'm no doctor, I think I were around a month and a half or so before I was even aware of the ectopic pregnancy!hope this helps put your mind at ease but like I said I'd definatly consult your doctor as everybody is different (not saying it's not this, just trying to put your mind at rest, anxiety can be a bugger and overthinking does not help). Iv just had a baby but were worried about this too at the beginning as I have previously had an ectopic pregnancy. It didn't help at all and will cause you more stress if you are pregnant! So relax and don't over think until you speak to a doctor. hope all goes well for you, and hope you feel better soon :)

This happened to me. I did not know I was pregnant as I was bleeding on and off.
One day I collapsed in pain and my doctor came and said he thought it was an ectopic pregnancy and sent me to hospital where they confirmed I was pregnant and the baby was growing in the tube which is why I had pain.
I think I was about 6 to 8 weeks pregnant.

I had same as Anordinarymum
Bleeding from around 5 weeks stopping and starting until 8 weeks when tube ruptured. Too early to tell at the mo but keep an eye on it. All the best

I'm sorry you're feeling so worried. 8 days would be too soon to have symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. I had an ectopic a few years ago and my symptoms didn't start until I was around 7 weeks pregnant. I didn't have any bleeding until the very last minute when it had become a medical emergency. Symptoms were severe, immobilising pain which came and went over a few days and feeling lightheaded, followed by fainting.

I did, however, have a little bleeding at the beginning with both my pregnancies which went to full term, although I think it may have been around the 2-3 week mark. Try not to worry too much at this stage. I know what it's like, though, to be anxious about health related stuff. I overthink every detail and get myself into a right state. If the bleeding continues, you would be best to get checked out for other issues. Thanks

6-8 weeks is the time you get an ectopic showing. There is no chance you are currently having symptoms of one don't worry

I was about 8 weeks along when I had my ectopic symptoms. I had prune coloured blood (from internal bleeding). A horrendous sharp stabbing pain in one side of my lower stomach and shoulder tip pain. I think you would be too far along for any symptoms as if your egg has been fertilised then it would still be making its way down the Fallopian tube to your uterus to implant at this point I think.

Bleeding could be implantation spotting or just random (I’ve had one off mid cycle spotting before). I would get a smear test and have a chat with your gp but it’s most likely nothing to worry about.

I’m so sorry you have health anxiety. I have this too and it’s awful. I’ve had talking therapy which really helped me - you can ask your go about this too or self refer on the nhs website.

Lots of hugs to you x
