Discharge and when to call your midwife?

I am 18 weeks pregnant and last week told I had thrush, they gave me a pessary which I'm not sure has worked? But I told my doctors this and they've given me more pessaries to take. Over the last 2 days I've been having discharge. Today being something I've really noticed. When I was in work this morning I felt my panty liner was damp, when I wiped I had a lot of stringy clear discharge which reminded me of ovulation type discharge. I then went to the toilet a couple hours later and after I had a wee I felt some more discharge leak out and when I wiped it was again stringy discharge.

I had a scan on Wednesday and everything was fine. But I am slightly worried after looking on a few threads and people saying amniotic fluid leak. And now im worried. When I had the swab for thrush it also showed as group b strep, which my midwife is now aware of and ive been given an alert sticker for my notes

I really don’t know but any uncertainty just call your midwife and have a chat with them. Could be nothing but better to get checked!

Hey! I've got no help or advice for you but just wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat. I've had the clear/white egg like discharge constantly throughout my pregnancy. I was swabbed on Thurs and still waiting for the results which I should hopefully find out tomorrow whether it's thrush. (She tested for GBS too - I'm required to get the antibiotics anyway as my DS was born with GBS but will be good to know if its positive)

Did you have any other symptoms of thrush? I'm 22w3d xx

I also get lots of discharge which is watery and have had the same worries. Seem to be ok at the minute but trush is driving me mad. I seem to be ok but if we have sex which is very rare due to the issues it causes I will get a massive flare up. Can’t seem to shift it very uncomfortable.

I've had discharge all the way through my pregnancy and the midwife said it was normal.

Give them a call if you are unsure though best to be safe!

@Cheekymonkey3112 isn't it the worst😫 and I haven't had any signs of thrush, I didn't even know I had it until the doctor told me and said there was a lot of thrush there and I was like oh. Haven't had discomfort, no itch or anything that comes along with thrush. Just the white discharge and I only notice it when im a bit more active. In work mainly when I'm walking about and today when I was hoovering u could feel it come out and I went to the toilet to check and there was white discharge in my underwear. My doctors have given me some more pessaries to take so I hope it does the trick because I honestly feel gross. I'm constantly wearing a panty liner when I'm not at home

@Hotcrossbunsinbed sex is a thing of the past for me. Every time we've done it I've felt discomfort afterwards and it's just not worth it

It'll be from the pessaries op.
I was on them via IVF and you do get fall out from them.

MissH995 · 30/11/2021 20:12

@OinkPinkPonk do you mean progesterone pessaries? I finished my pessaries at my 16 weeks mark, I'm 19 weeks on Friday. Sorry, I meant the canesten thrush pessaries. I've only had one and that was over a week ago now. I pick up my next prescription tomorrow to try them again to shift the thrush

I’m 26 weeks and have had thrush since mid august! I have had the pessaries quite a few times and I definitely notice increased discharge a few days later every time. I reckon it’s probably just that but no harm in calling your triage line and they can always check all is ok (I did this at one point and it did help reassure me).

Apologies my misunderstanding!

@OinkPinkPonk it was those bloody progesterone pessaries that kicked off my first round of thrush which I cleared and it's come back with vengeance. I do not miss the progesterone days in the slightest🙅🏼‍♀️
