Hello!!

This is going to be a TMI post but…. I’m looking for some advice/similar experiences.

I’m currently 27+4 and recently every time I have a bowel movement I spot. It’s only when I wipe but it’s concerning me. It’s definitely not blood from my bottom.

Spoke to my midwife but she seemed confused that it was happening and didn’t really give me any help.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing and whether I should be concerned or not?

Xx

Thank you! It’s still going on now and a trip to A&E later I still don’t know if it’s normal or not! I’m seeing my midwife again next week so hopefully can speak to her again about it!

Oh bless you. Did they scan and see baby was ok?
I've been spotting since I was 5 weeks - I'm now 12+2 and it's still going on. 5 scans over 6 weeks and all show a healthy baby and no obvious cause for the spotting- I think sometimes it just happens. I've read tons and seen so many HCP's about it - if yours is happening after a bowel movement it does sound like one of the common ones!
If you're constipated try and take something from the chemist to make your stool looser so you don't have to push, if straining is what's causing it. Sorry to be so graphic, but it's something I tried before I realised I was spotting all the time not just after I opened my bowels xxx
Please let me know how you get on next week!
