Pregnancy being investigated due to some cramping. Dates showing at 6 weeks pregnant. HCG in bloods showing at 1900. Had a scan today showing only fluid filled gestational sack- no yolk sack to be see . Re scan in 2 weeks to confirm a viable pregnancy but suspected miscarriage NO BLEEDING. Has this happened to anyone please would like the good and the bad outcomes so I know what I’m coming up against. Has anyone had this but just been earlier in pregnancy than dates?

Hi, sorry this is happening to you.
If this is an empty sac, a blighted ovum then bleeding may not start for many weeks.

It’s a big unknown to be honest.

I’ve had this a few times, sometimes bleeding starts then stops, sometimes no bleeding at all.

I got to 13 weeks one time knowing that it was an empty sac at 7 weeks.
That was horrific.

So inform yourself about your options.
I had medical management which is tablets to induce the miscarriage.
This was prolonged and very painful with a lot of bleeding. Not pleasant at all.

You can have surgical intervention which is a very quick removal of the sac, you will be put to sleep and it’s over within half an hour. Fast recovery physically.
Or you can wait it out. As I say, at 13 weeks after knowing and waiting for 6 weeks and nothing happening, I needed it over.

It’s a shit situation, so very sorry x Flowers

I’ve been told I need to wait 2 weeks for a scan to confirm what’s happening. Then I’m guessing they’ll give me my options. I really don’t want to be put to sleep it petrifies me that I won’t wake up

You may start bleeding before to 2 weeks is up.

There will be other posters who could reassure you with their stories of similar scam findings and there being a baby & a heart beat on the next scan so take heart.

Miracles do of course happen xx

I’m so sorry you are going through this, such a difficult emotional time. This happened to me a couple of years ago. I had a scan which dated baby at 5 weeks, I was closer to 7. I knew my exact dates of conception due to ovulation pains that I have had for years.
I went back in 10 days later, strangely baby had grown however there was no heartbeat. I was literally heartbroken, the nurse who saw me after the scan showed no empathy whatsoever.
I decided to wait it out. 2 weeks later nothing had happened and I started having nightmares. I went in to have medical management where they inserted a pessary. It was very painful and very prolonged, the miscarriage took 5 days to complete. Looking back I wish I’d have had the d&c.
I’d rather just give you an honest account of my experience because I think had I have been more informed I’d have made a better choice.
I hope your next scan shows some positive news for you though, there are plenty of ladies who have had good news after bad but please know if it is worst case scenario Then you aren’t on your own xx

Same as the poster above me. I went in for a scan at 7 weeks and only measured 5 weeks with nothing but a gestational sac showing. I also knew the date of conception given my OH works away. I went back a couple of weeks later and miraculously Baby had started growing. But there wasn't a heartbeat and by the time I'd gone back in for my next scan a week later I'd started bleeding and although Baby had dropped right onto my cervix and still no heartbeat they couldn't confirm I was miscarrying for a further 2 weeks. They confirmed it 4 days later in the end after I was admitted to A&E. I chose to miscarry naturally but in the end after 5 weeks still needed medical management.

Again not a good news story but I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks where we found out on a reassurance scan. No bleeding, no cramps and no bleeding before I had a D&C.

The nurses and anaesthetist were so kind and really looked after me. So no sooner was the anaesthetist trying to make me smile while getting ready, I was waking up. No pain all over.

I hope you have good news but prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I’m so sorry OP.

I had the same. Started very light bleeding at 11 weeks. Didn’t have a scan before that but baby stoppped growing at 5 weeks, so had been inside for 6 weeks not knowing it wasn’t growing. EPU advised to wait 1-2 weeks to see if any growth before they did anything. Before I went back, I spontaneously miscarried. Honestly, I would go straight for a D&C if that’s an option for you as it was very traumatic. Traumatic due to the amount of pain I was in. Nobody prepared me for what I would go through- it was worse than Labour contractions.
