I haven't, BUT I haven't been able to eat apples during pregnancy! I had one early one and my whole lip swelled up and my throat closed a little, so haven't been able to eat them since. Never had any food allergies, or any issues with apples before pregnancy, very strange! Pregnancy can do weird and wonderful things to your body x

one early on**

Fuuuuuckit · 24/11/2021 10:27

I thought this was going to be another ffs what can't be eaten when pregnant posts!

But yes, for me it was the actual texture of the apple that made me heave, and I can only eat really smooth-textured apples to this day! Wierd!

All of sudden apples give me heartburn since pregnancy.

EarCatVega · 24/11/2021 16:12

I can’t stop eating apples Grin

Weirdly the only time I puked when pregnant with DD was after an apple!

Pantheon · 24/11/2021 16:18

Apples, tea and coffee all give me heartburn in pregnancy. And couldn't have them at all in 1st tri or I'd be sick Sad

Standardmess · 24/11/2021 18:18

Yep! In the 1st trimester I had a really strong craving for apples but the moment I took a bite I would be sick. Totally fine with them now at 27 weeks.

Snooptheboot · 24/11/2021 18:33

Apples were one of the few things I could stomach either time!

Dollywilde · 24/11/2021 18:38

I haven’t been able to eat much fruit this pregnancy, it’s been giving me heartburn - I’m assuming it’s the acid? I don’t think I’ve tried apples but I wouldn’t be risking it so you’re not alone!

GinnyBee · 24/11/2021 21:39

Gosh, apples were one of the few things I could eat and made me feel better in 1st trimester! I had about 2 per day for weeks! I'm now 15 weeks and feel a lot better but still love a nice, crisp apple!

BarryTheKestrel · 24/11/2021 21:44

I craved apples obsessively with DD. Ate at least 3 a day.

Evianontoast · 25/11/2021 04:15

Avocado, watermelon, pears, olives - all make me puke. Fruit salad for breakfast? Puke? Healthy snack? Puke. Greasy chips from the chippy? One happy baby. This is definitely my husband's child.

This I had such a craving or the hardest, greenest apples possible. Felt it was the only thing that made my mouth feel fresh as such a bad taste all the time. Would wake up in the middle of the night thinking of green apples.
Dollywilde · 25/11/2021 08:28

This is definitely my husband's child.

I can’t stand cake, biscuits, chocolate - anything sweet except when pregnant (twice now). No sweet tooth whatsoever. DH on the other hand would sell his granny for a slice of New York Cheesecake. So I’m in the same boat @Evianontoast Grin

Never been pregnant but I have an allergy to raw apple. My lips, mouth and throat become red, lumpy, itchy and inflamed if I eat one. I think it's called oral allergy syndrome.

I'd love to eat an apple 🍎 .
