Mucus plug?

Hi everyone,

I am 32 weeks pregnant and I had some brown discharge a couple of days ago. I read online it could be the 'mucus plug' and that labour could be days maybe weeks away. My midwife said it's fine.. but I was just wondering if anyone else had this and went into Labour later on or if it's just my body preparing for the next 8 weeks.
TIA

With your mucus plug it's very evident when it's coming away. Literally big globules of jelly like discharge which can be blood streaked.

Even if you lost your mucus plug it doesn't really mean anything and it can still be ages before you go into labour.

I second @Tee20x - the mucus plug was clear, jelly-like stuff, and you’d definitely know if you were losing it (it’s quite an amount!)
If you have any concerns can you arrange to see the pre natal ward, if you’re not reassured by your midwife?

I didn't have a mucus plug as such (that I saw) but had what the midwife referred to as a 'show' which was a bit of bloody discharge.

I'm guessing it's similar, I had mine in the middle of the night and awful backache like period pains and ds was born the next day.

I'd get it checked it to be on the safe side if you are worried, I think there's a number on the front of your booklet (the one you take to midwife appointments) you could give them a call for reassurance.
