Hi, finding myself more than slightly surprised to be 7 weeks pregnant at 47. I’d love to hear some positive stories. I’m hiding away as it’s higher risk due to my age so working from home as much as possible atm and trying not to worry!

Huge congratulations! I had my daughter at 43 (IVF) and we still have frozen embryos so I've been toying with the idea of another. I'm 45 now so worry I'm too old but nobody would bat an eyelid about a man becoming at Dad in his 40s.

My friend had her second set of twins at 47. Her first set were 17!
All vaginal deliveries. All well.

Congratulations, I hope you have a smooth pregnancy. You are obviously very healthy to have got to 7 months without realising.

Now you all end to stop scaring me, I'm almost 47 and the thought of being pregnant terrifies me

My grandmother had my dad at 46, all was (clearly) well, she credited him with keeping her young - and that appeared to work as she lived until she was 95! Congratulations!

I’m pregnant too at nearly 43 and we have had covid in the house since last week but none of the rest of us caught it so far! Are you vaccinated?

Congrats on your pregnancy OP

One of these years I'll learn to read properly 🙄

You might want to get this moved from the covid board x.

I had my DC number 1 at 44 and found out I was pregnant with DC2 when I was 47. She was a wonderful surprise and I am hugely grateful to have them both.

The chances are in both your favour that all will be well, you know Smile.

Good luck, and congratulations!

Congratulations!

Libelula21 · 23/11/2021 16:51

That’s wonderful news! :-)

Thank you all so much, very encouraging 😊 love hearing stories where it’s gone well for people. Googling later life pregnancies is generally grim reading. I will keep hiding away from the dreaded C lurgy (though I am vaccinated) and fingers crossed 🤞

@Jeni777

Congratulations!

You've posted this on the covid board (which lots of people avoid)

Maybe ask MN to move it somewhere more appropriate where you might get more responses.

Congratulations

Nikster8012 · 24/10/2023 12:36

@Soniaspahiu hiya any luck with supplements ? I would love to know if you succeeded. I turned 45 literally 2 days ago...

MintJulia · 24/10/2023 12:55

Congratulations. How exciting 🙂

I had ds at 45. Problem free pregnancy except my feet got a bit puffy at 36 weeks so I stopped commuting. I didn't even have morning sickness. Natural, slightly slow labour. Ds born at 40+6. All well. He's 15 now, still all good.
