Hi all,
I work in a hospital and had both vaccines (Pfizer) prior to pregnancy. I have now been invited for my booster (also Pfizer) and although I will definitely be getting it, I am a little anxious. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and mw has recommended it.
Has anyone had their covid booster during pregnancy and can give me some reassurance that it will be fine?!
Thank you so much Smile xxx

I've had mine - got it in the second trimester and now in the third with no issues at all. I had a slightly sore arm for maybe a day, but found it much less uncomfortable than the whooping cough and flu ones! Would definitely recommend!

I had mine at 26 weeks. now 30 weeks and all been ok so far. fingers crossed

I haven’t had a booster but I got my first and second jabs at 20 and 28 weeks respectively. Everything absolutely fine as far as I know! I ummed and ahhed for ages but I’m now so glad I got it, particularly as more information has been released on the dangers of Covid in pregnancy - the increased risk of stillbirth, premature birth etc.

Look at the stats given by Chris whitty for pregnant women in icu during the last press conference. 235. 232 unvaccinated.

You want to be as protected as possible.

Good luck Flowers

I wish I could have my booster! I am 3rd trimester but not eligible till after I give birth (which then because of my age makes me not eligible?!).

HotMummaSummer · 23/11/2021 16:54

I got my booster 2 weeks ago at around 21 weeks. I've had no negative side effects and still been feeling lots of kicks.
Someone I know caught covid at 35 weeks which led to preterm labour, I'd rather risk that vaccine than going into labor early. Especially as DD born last year was in the 2 centile when born at 39+6 due to preeclampsia!

EarlGreywithLemon · 23/11/2021 17:26

I had my booster at 8 weeks, I’m now 11. Had no side effects at all.

Mac9999 · 23/11/2021 17:51

I had my covid booster at 7 weeks. Sore arm (but less so than covid 1&2). No other problems. Now all going well and 15 weeks.

Lilypad121 · 23/11/2021 18:24

Had my booster at 23 weeks, now 25 weeks, no side effects apart from a mildly sore arm. Have been fine since, I had a scan last week and baby was wriggling away and all looks good.

violetfern · 23/11/2021 18:29

I have had all 3 jabs whilst pregnant (first one just post conception so unaware at the time!). AZ first two then Pfizer at nearly 28/40 as booster. Apart
from sore arm felt fine. Looking at the stats I’m glad that I was eligible for a booster through work. managed to avoid catching Covid from my little one as well. For me the risk of not having it is too big x

violetfern · 23/11/2021 18:30

Sorry meant my second and booster (not first!)

abbs1 · 23/11/2021 19:18

I just had my booster jab Pfizer today after previously having 2xAZ. So far only sore arm. Baby is moving loads.
Midwife said to make sure I have it as I have to be in hospital weekly from 30 weeks.
Also my little boy was born at 38 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and was below 2nd centile 4 days before the big first lockdown so I'm doing all I can to protect me and little one this time.

willithappen · 23/11/2021 20:23

I haven't had booster but I have had both does of the jab one at 22 weeks and on at 30 weeks and I'm so glad I did because I caught Covid at 33 weeks (still have it now) and my symptoms were very bare minimum with it, lasting around 3 days max and just sneezed and sniffles a lot

QueenLagertha · 23/11/2021 21:23

I had my booster at 13/14 weeks. Now 18 weeks. Just had 24hrs of flu like symptoms and sore arm. Fine after that. Feel so much safer now

Thank you so much to everyone who has replied, makes me feel so much better that it’s gone well for lots of people! Smile
