Hi

Do you think a BP of 146/80 on one arm and 143/84 on the other arm is something to worry about?

I have tried the midwife and she's not answering atm.

Thanks

How far along are you? Does your midwife know you are monitoring your BP? When did you last have your urine dipped?

I had pregnancy induced hypertension and had to monitor my BP twice a day at home. Looking at the info pack now, if the top number was in the 140 range, i had to monitor for 2 days and if it stayed high, then go to the day assessment unit. But i wouldn't do that if i hadn't already been assessed - i would want to get it checked out ASAP. Can you keep trying your midwife or is there a general line you can ring to speak to someone?

I am 25 weeks. The midwife rang back and told me off for using the automated BP machine 🤦🏻‍♀️ she said it isn't accurate as manual and just said to come in and get it checked if i was worried

@Nicola2182 How rude of the midwife to tell you off!

I have been using a digital BP machine as I have had pre eclampsia, eclampsia and pregnancy induced hypertension.
Every midwife or consultant I have spoken to about it has said it’s a handy thing to have at home and it’s very accurate.

I wouldn’t worry about what your midwife said, I would still carry on checking at home as it’s reassuring and good to know. Hope everything is ok x
