Downs and amnio

Hi everyone. I’ve had a very stressful pregnancy so far. I’m currently 19 weeks. At my 12 week scan they picked up possibility of Down’s syndrome and took blood samples. Results came back high for downs, edwards and pataus so had nipt blood test done and results came back still high for downs and low for edwards and pataus. I’ve had near weekly scans as I didn’t want an amnio if it was high only for downs. The consultants keep mentioning edwards and pataus even after being told by my screening midwife it was not a concern from her perspective. The consultant now has me completely freaking out and have to travel 3 hours away for a scan with a geneticist and possible amnio next week. Have any of you been in similar situation and offer any advice. Scans have shown everything looks fine except for the thickening at back of neck and the slight possibility of a small hernia near umbilical cord he wouldn’t stay still long enough for a proper look at umbilical cord insertion.

I just wanted to bump this up for you. Sorry it's been so stressful. No advice at all, but good luck for your geneticist appointment. It sounds really positive to get this level of screening, as stressful as it'll be to travel three hours and wait for it

Didn't want to read and run. I'm sorry you are going through this.

My combined screening has come
Back as 1:54 chance of Downs. I'm having the amneo next week when I'm 16 weeks. It the only way to know for sure as it's a diagnostic test.

Will be thinking of you

My advice would be get the Amnio.

We had a CVS done due to an administrative error that ultimately picked up a potential trisomy (13) and subsequently had to get a amniocentesis.

It's unpleasant, but it's brief and after that, you have clarity. For your peace of mind, I'd highly recommend.
