26 weeks pregnant and developed shivers - terrified

Hi is anyone still awake, I'm currently 26 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Yesterday I had a sore throat. This is gone now but now I developed shivers this evening. I currently don't have fever, but I took 500 mg of paracetamol to prevent a fever.

Ive just had my second hot shower tonight to feel warmer and baby was moving lots in the shower. Baby also has just kicked a few seconds ago.

I had both covid vaccines and I really wanted to get my flu vaccine as well but I had to keep on putting it off because I've had a continuous nasty cold for the last two weeks.

I now convinced myself that I either have corona or the flu and as I'm unfortunately only 26 weeks pregnant I'm convinced that the baby will die or I will die or we will both die as I know how dangerous corona and the flu can be in pregnancy.

I almost certainly know that I will wake up with a fever because I feel really warm and flushed despite having normal temperature.

Has anyone had flu or covid while being in their second trimester and you had a positive outcome? xx

Hi OP, I didn’t want to read and run.

I’m sorry you’re feeling rubbish Flowers. In all likelihood you and your baby will be absolutely fine. Just keep an eye on your temperature and call 111 if you’re at all concerned.

I had a nasty virus during my pregnancy and understand what a worry it can be, but the best thing you can do is to rest and take care of yourself.

Hey, I had covid when I was pregnant and had a high temp. DD2 and I are both fine and this was pre vaccines. Try not to worry too much and take care of yourself xx

I had covid at the start of my 3rd trimester. This was before pregnant women could get the vaccine. I was terrified, but it was OK. My main symptom was exhaustion and I was off work for a few weeks.

Get lots of rest, take a daily high dose vit s
D if you can, and eat healthily.

Let us know how you are.

Are you sure you aren't feeling hot and flushed becaus you've had two hot showers? I think your brain is going into over drive, try and do something to distract yourself - a good book or film? Can you take an LFF or book in for a pVR test to reassure yourself regarding Covid?

dont worry op, just try to rest.
i had fever and cold when i was pregnant, only took aspirin and rested.
you had your covid jabs so dont worry.
try to read a book (an interesting one) for example or be usy with something.
being anxious wont help anything.
