Looking for reassurance really.
Conceived our DS on cycle 1, 3 years ago. We’re TTC #2 and I was convinced I was pregnant this month due to my symptoms but just had a BFN on a FRER and I’m feeling so sad. I know I timed it right because of OPKs and BBT but it hasn’t happened. We’re only just entering cycle 3 so it’s still early days but I’m worried there’s something wrong after it was so easy the first time.

Cycle 2 with first, cycle 3 with 2nd. Sending you lots of baby dust x

Dyra · 21/11/2021 20:18

24 months - MC
11 months - DC1
5 months - DC2 (pending, 22weeks atm)

In the time it took to get DC1, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Knowing this meant when we started trying for DC2, I could start some of the medications (primarily Metformin) I knew I would need to conceive. I also started taking inositol which I firmly believe helped matters along as well.

YouJustFoldItIn · 21/11/2021 20:19

About 5 or 6 weeks.

abbs1 · 21/11/2021 21:17

DC 2 first cycle after miscarriage -20 months old now.
DC 3 second cycle -currently 24 weeks

Hey @Moonshine160, I’m so sorry, I know it’s such a horrible feeling - I felt exactly the same in September by our 3rd official cycle (but had been not preventing pregnancy since sept 2020) I was really worried it just wasn’t happening. Our first DC was around 12 cycles but we weren’t actively ‘trying’ then we’ve just got our bfp on our 4th official cycle with our second.
I know from our chat on the other post, you’re doing so much to cover your fertile days & track cycle - that seems to have really worked for us this month. If it would help, give your doctor a call and chat through your concerns, mine were really lovely when I did that in October, offered to start tests if we didn’t fall on within 6 months, think that helped me feel a bit better that we could get some investigations planned. (I’m 34, DH is 39)

RosieLemonade · 22/11/2021 10:27

DD was a surprise when I was 25
New baby took 3 cycles when I was 30.

SickAndTiredAgain · 22/11/2021 10:29

Cycle 1 with first pregnancy (blighted ovum miscarriage)
Cycle 1 with DD
Cycle 7 with current pregnancy (13 weeks)

elliejjtiny · 22/11/2021 10:31

Ds1 took a year and a miscarriage to happen so we started ttc when he was 12 months old, aiming for a 3 year age gap. Conceived first cycle.

Moonshine160 · 22/11/2021 11:17

@mrsS21 thanks so much for your support, I really do appreciate it.

I’ve phoned the doctors this morning and have an appointment booked with the nurse as during sex I keep getting a really deep pain on the left and I want it checked out just to rule out there’s not a problem as it’s playing on my mind and making me anxious that there could be a problem or blockage or something! Doesn’t happen every time but I seem to get it depending on sex position Blush and it’s always in the same place. I did mention it to a nurse over a year ago when I had my smear test and she said everything looked ok but there was a fair bit of scarring presumably from the birth of my DS (it was quite a difficult birth, he was stuck and I had to have a deep episiotomy which then got infected). I think I’ll be more relaxed about TTC once it’s been checked, I’m not sure what the nurse will do. I’m assuming she will do an examination but the pain feels deeper than the inside of my vagina. Sorry for all that info!

Ah, yes that sounds like a really good thing to get checked - hopefully it’s nothing - but it will hopefully rule out any issues. They may refer you in to gynaecologist who could do internal exams or ultrasound etc.
It is worrying, and especially if you’ve had such a time of it with your 1st.

Hopefully whilst you’re waiting for appointments etc, you’ll find you get your bfp 🤞🏻🥰. Just remember to take care of yourself & be kind, it’s so easy to be so hard on yourself when you feel it’s not happening.

DC1 - 1st cycle

3 years later I got pregnant on my 1st cycle again but had a miscarriage at 10 weeks.

Tried again a few months later and DC2 was conceived on my third cycle.

I know plenty of people who took quite a lot longer to conceive a second than their first,

MajorNeville · 22/11/2021 11:52

DC1 was a antibiotic/pill combination mishap.

DC2 second cycle.

Somerandomgirl · 22/11/2021 17:51

Different for everyone, so no answer will be right answer... took 2 years of trying ..and the month i gave up finally and wanted to go back to work...=bfp 🤦‍♀️

SillyBry · 22/11/2021 20:25

DD1 - cycle 2
Ectopic pregnancy, leading to loss of 1 fallopian tube - cycle 1
DD2 - cycle 1

I am clearly incredibly fertile, falling pregnant on my first cycle after recovering from tube removal... I have no intention of having any more children, so I'm working on hubby getting the snip ASAP!!! ;-)

Ilovechocolatecoins · 22/11/2021 22:40

DC1 3 cycles
DC2 3 years!
DC3 1 year

HarryHarryHarry3 · 22/11/2021 22:51

Cycle 9 or 10 with baby #1, cycle 1 with baby #2, currently TTC baby #3. This is cycle 1.

I don’t think there’s any pattern to these things, it’s just luck.

Justhope1991 · 18/12/2023 17:08

Hey did u concieve then? Just curious? As i am going through the same phase.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 18/12/2023 17:18

Moonshine160 · 18/12/2023 20:26

@Justhope1991 yes, on cycle 4 :)

Justhope1991 · 19/12/2023 05:59
